Just look to tomorrow
Look straight ahead
Don't be discouraged, don't let them win
There's no use in crying
It's not the end
Don't listen to those monsters in your head

Monster Building Night-Monster Building night. Hong Kong -15 July 2017 This building is probably the most Instagrammed site of Hong Kong and a perfect illustration for dense housing in a megapolis. It is called ‘Monster Building' due to an unbelievable conglomeration of five residential complexes—Oceanic Mansion, Fook Cheong Building, Montane Mansion, Yick Cheong Building, and Yick Fat Building. The complex is also known as Yik Cheong Building, one of the most famous buildings in Quarry Bay.

The Monster Building, located in Quarry Bay neighbourhood in Eastern Hong Kong, isn’t actually a single building, but an E-shaped 19-floor complex composed of five interconnected structures: Oceanic Mansion, Fok Cheong Building, Montane Mansion, Yick Cheong Building, and Yick Fat Building. It was built during a population boom in the 1960s to offer housing for low-income residents. The Monster Building has 2443 flats and is home to around 6 thousand people.

The monster always reside within your heart, your mind, and it's up to you to hold it back.
I seem to under estimate of this picture because my wife, and my friends don't like it. However, it has been picked by National Geographic's Daily Dozen today - 7/21.

The Sand Motor was built as coastal protection. The no access sign was there because of research activities (unknown to me). It looked like such a contrast to the wide open coastal landscape.
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”
Quote ― Friedrich Nietzsche
So don't get hypnotized and just let them return where they belong. They will come back though…….

Another mural seen in a lane of Mount Pleasant ( 112 E 7th Ave). The artist, Michelle Nguyen, explore the adventure of eccentric, fictionalized bodies and the spaces they occupy.
Vancouver Mural Fest (VMF) love transforming the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood (one of Vancouver’s hippest neighbourhoods) into an even brighter and better place with their murals all while putting on an epic street party too.
Vancouver Mural fest supports local artists and has helped produce over 150 murals since 2016! That means there are a lot of murals for you to check out!

This is an imagined skeleton of a creature in Hindu mythology. Being part elephant, crocodile, fish and more, Makara was believed to have been able to roam in multiple realms. An exhibit at UrMu (Urban Museum) in Kuala Lumpur.
Gila Monster: Beads, Burrows, and Bite
One of only two venomous lizards in North America (the other’s in Mexico), the Gila Monster lumbers through the Southwest like it owns the desert—which it kind of does.
It doesn’t strike—it gnaws to inject venom. Yes, chews. Slowly. While you rethink your life choices.
It spends most of its time underground, emerging to snack on eggs, hatchlings, and the occasional unlucky rodent.
I photographed this one drinking at a pond and then strolling off like it had a reservation somewhere cooler. It never rushed. Why would it? Legends don’t run.

Quite a sight to see the amazing size of this "monster" iceberg floating on the still water. And to think only 1\10 of the size is showing

The foot trail goes between these redwood monsters along the Trillium Falls Trail, Redwood National and State Parks, October, 2024. We found it not uncommon to see the corkscrew-like bark patterns like the one on the left. It is impossible to hike here and not feel changed.
A supercell thunderstorm developed near North Platte, Nebraska right at sunset. The intense colors mixed with lightning as the monster slowly approached. (Explored # 333) www.rossellet.com
Monster's Lair - Western Screech-Owl comes out of her lair. She is wrapping up her molt. Was looking real scraggly the past few months and was not coming out until very late. Now that her new feathers are growing in, she is back to her usual curious self.

A monster lives in my pool. I don’t know how it got there. It only comes out at night.
I first saw it when I went for a swim one night. There it was, lurking in the corner. I was scared witless. I ran away screaming. I did not call the police. Who would believe me?
One morning, I awoke to find my glasses on the back porch. The glasses I had lost in the swimming pool. Somebody had placed a flower beside my glasses.
Later that same day, I left some biscuits by the poolside. Nobody touched them during the day. In the morning, they were gone.
This all happened some weeks ago.
Now I lie awake at night, listening. Waiting and listening in the dark. I like listening in the dark. It’s wonderfully relaxing, to listen in the dark. Waiting for the monster.
I hear the garden door open, gently. I hear naked, wet feet tiptoe towards the kitchen. I hear the fridge door open. I hear the satisfying sound of munching. Isn’t it wonderful?
At night, I don’t bother locking my front door anymore. You’d have to be crazy to break into my house. I have a monster living in my pool. It's in the kitchen right now.

Moderate safety level so I don't scare kiddies and grandma's.

This is Tree Monster.
I made him out of black pipe cleaners while choosing to stay indoors because of frigid temps.
I had tried making several backgrounds for this but decided to make an AI generated picture of scary twisted trees.
I used my laptop to do several shots.
The eyes are Lego bits and the Monster is holding a stick with Borax Crystals on it!
-19 this morning and there was a windchill.
