Con estas lineas quiero agradecer al Fotoclub Forat y en especial a los organizadores y artífices de este XI Rally fotográfico que hoy ha terminado, agradecer las cosas bien hechas, con gran ilusión y con muchisimo corazón, mil gracias en mi nombre y en el de estoy segurísimo de ello, en nombre de todos.
Dar mi enhorabuena a Pascual y a Paco por esos merecidos premios y por el gran trabajo realizado en el rally, fuuu impresionante. Tambien quiero felicitar a los miembros de AFX por la calidad de las colecciones presentadas cada día más y más calidad ... que alegría de verdad!
No es el primer rally fotográfico en el que participo y todos los que me conocéis lo sabéis, también sabéis que las palabras no son lo mio y como hoy Miguel Angel me ha hecho hablar y estaba tan nervioso ... pues no se si lo he dicho bien o se me ha entendido lo que he querido decir , simplemente todos los participantes de este rally , a todos y cada uno de vosotros. GRACIAS.
Gracias y de verdad gracias por hacer de estos "concursos" algo tan grande como es, no es facil explicar a alguien que llega de nuevo , que significa y que supone participar en un rally fotográfico de estas características. En muchas ocasiones lo comento con los compañeros y siempre termino diciendo que un rally fotográfico es una actividad en la que uno va y parte con la premisa de divertirse y pasarlo bien haciendo lo que más le gusta, fotografías, fotografías de cámara, sin alterar.
Desde mi experiencia tengo que decir que en absoluto es siempre así, se sufre y se padece cuando las cosas se tuercen, cuando uno tiene un mal día, cuando simplemente no pensamos lo que hacemos o lo que es peor lo que queremos hacer, se sufre cuando tienes que entregar ocho fotografías, son las diez de la mañana y solo tienes una, se padece cuando querías ver un tipo de luz y ese día la luz no ayuda, se sufre cuando te das cuenta que la fotografía que has hecho y has visto una y otra vez en la pantallita de la cámara estaba al "punto" y cuando te das cuenta de que no es así miras el reloj y vuelves a repetirla porque te queda algo de tiempo, se sufre por ver al compañero desanimado, por un montón de cosas se sufre si ... se sufre.
Pero hay una cosa que compensa todos y cada uno de esos momentos malos que irremediablemente tienen que existir y es cuando has entregado tu trabajo de en forma de 8 fotografías, miras a los que te rodean y sabes que todos ellos han pasado por lo mismo y ahora toca disfrutar ... disfrutar de los comentarios, de las estrategias, de la cervecita, de los abrazos, de la alegría de haber conseguido terminar, de la siesta que te vas a pegar en cuanto toques la cama, de las mil i una sonrisas que te vas a encontrar por el camino y lo que vas a disfrutar viendo al día siguiente la proyección de tooooooodas las fotos de todos los participantes.
Todo esto lo vale, de verdad que si, lo vale y lo supera con creces...
Quiero terminar con una frase de Pepe Mengual con el cual comentando en la entrada al acto de entrega de premios hemos tenido la oportunidad de charlar y que creo que resume muy bien el devenir y la consecución de este tipo de actividad y es tan simple como que "los momentos más importantes para un participante son la primera media hora del comienzo del rally y la última hora antes de entregar " es así ... Pensar en que hacer, y saber que elegir para entregar.
Esta foto que aquí os presento fue mi primera foto del rally, la primera después de la hoja de objetivos y con la que empezo todo, fue mirar la pantallita de la cámara y decir ... Mola !

Grevillea are mostly endemic to Australia. They not only have amazing colour combinations but they have striking form as well. They also come in all shapes and sizes from quite small shrubs and prone varieties to reasonable sized trees. And don't the birds and pollen eaters love them. This one is of course "Molly" which was my Mum's name. So it seems appropriate to see her around her beloved Christmas.
We planted Molly a year or two back and these are her first flowers.
"Grevillea 'Molly' is a grevillea cultivar first made available to the public in 2003. It is a cross between G. aurea and G. bipinnatifida, chosen from seedlings which were bred by Owen Brown of Golden Beach, Queensland in 1997".
I don’t know who Molly is or was, but this is an exceptionally fine butte that she got her name attached to. There are several Molly’s nipples, as well as Molly’s stockings (a volcanic dike) in Utah, some associated with the bride of the cowboy John Kitchen. Presumably this was also named in honor of the cowboy’s wife.
The fine layering on the butte is the Summerville formation, sediments (shales, silts, and sands) deposited in shallow tidal flats when this area was a shallow ocean 160 million years ago. The white bands are gypsum, which sometimes dissolves and leaches into the other layers. These layers are responsible for one of the more beautiful formations of the Colorado Plateau in my humble opinion.
Above the Summerville is the Morrison Formation, deposits of sands formed following a period of uplift and deposition in floodplains and playas.
The castle and its associated layers beautifully reflect the late afternoon sun, as does the mini-badlands formation at the base.

Molly was blamed for most of the bad hair in Wales. In 1897, she was forced to leave her town and went on a steam ship bound for New York. When the boat reached the harbor, all the passengers on board had acquired her "bad hair".
Bert, Molly and I had a quick walk up Allermuir Hill this morning. The sun even came out for a short period giving some nice sunrise colors. Happy days!
We welcomed this lovely Labrador into our home yesterday as she was about to be euthanased at the vets where I work. She has diabetes and kidney disease,it doesn't look good but really felt she needed to be given a chance. So she is living out the rest of her days with myself and my family. Molly needs 2 insulin injections daily and special food - I pray with all my heart she has a little longer.. as she has sneaked into our hearts already .. <3
