The Millers Cottage is on the grounds just feet away from Ballycopeland Windmill. It has been turned into a Visitors Centre now and there is a fully working model of the Windmill on display plus the history etc.

The Millers Cottage, the kiln and drying floor all still remain in their original positions at the site. It is also unique as the last remaining windmill in the world that retains the patented Hooper Roller Reefing gear, the system for operating the blinds on the sails on calmer days.

The view across the old quarry at Miller's Dale in Derbyshire's White Peak. The area is now a nature reserve managed superbly by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and at this time of year it is carpeted with orchids.

The George Miller Covered Bridge was built in 1879 to cross the West Fork of Eagle Creek. An Amish contractor renovated the 169' long bridge in 1990. Located near Russellville it's one of four covered bridges in Brown County. Ohio has over 125 covered bridges making it second in numbers, behind Pennsylvania.

Pan Am Railways EDPO is seen cruising east through Millers Falls, MA in yesterday's snowstorm.

At the Henry Miller memorial library in Big Sur, there’s a framed letter to the editor of the local newspaper on the wall — someone in the 70s upset that there had been some nudity in a gallery show. The original subject of the writer’s ire was posted along with their letter. During the intermission of Big Surcus last week, this photographer pulled the frame from the wall and asked an attendee to read it out loud so we could all hear how far we’ve come. I snapped this at 1/30s as the attendee squinted to read the small print and the photographer glanced in my direction.

Handsome little guy, I let him go after this shoot. It was interesting how his antennae would twitch after each shot, but his body would stay still. I repaired it with Helicon,

Driving home from a long hike out at 40-Acre Heritage Preserve today the light was perfect to capture one of my favorite fields down the road from my house. I parked my car on the side of the road, grabbed my trusty Tamron and warming polarizer and caught this as the sun was sinking low on the horizon.

On Christmas Eve, half a dozen traction orange GP38-2s drag a loaded coal train from the BNSF through Miller en route towards Bailley.

An assortment of vehicles tucked away for the night at Miller Street (Moorsom Street, technically!)

A yard comprised almost entirely of training vehicles - as would be the case if the withdrawals weren't in view. Most prominently: blue-fronted Coventry Gemini 4677 - withdrawn following fire damage.

I love this time of year to see what different geese show up.

In the northern end of the Kosciuszko National Park, built in the 1940s.

My friends Dave Denby, Dave Sutton and I had another fabulous day at Millers Wood Nature Reserve Crawly Sussex, the weather was overcast with light showers, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits or that of the continuous procession of a wonderful array of beautiful wild birds.

If ya gotta go - go in style...
