Life is harsh sometimes, and this is not for the faint of heart.. but remember: we all need to eat.

Female peregrine falcon, bringing food to her young ones.

Looks like a pigeon, and she, like the good mom that she is, completely cleaned the prey of feathers. Her chicks did enjoy this meal.

Baby steps.

Young peregrine falcon, flapping his wings. About 6 weeks old, still has some down feathers. But this youngster is exercising hard and is determined to take it to the skies soon.

Not welcome.

A red tailed hawk greeted rudely by a peregrine falcon, on a cloudy morning (the Pacific Ocean is in the bg).

The red tail landed in the peregrine territory and was quickly attacked by both resident falcons. The hawk left, got away unharmed this time but I've seen the peregrines take down the much larger hawk.

Young red fox kit.

I think they are a bit less than 3 months old, 4 of them in this litter .. all looking healthy and growing up fast.
