Tangara labradorides labradorides

Metallic-green Tanagers inhabit humid montane forests in the Andes in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. They are mostly blue-green in color, although strongly they appear to be blue or green can change, depending upon light conditions.
Their diet consists almost entirely of arthropods and fruits. Metallic-green Tanagers are usually found in pairs or small groups and often join flocks consisting of multiple tanager species.
There are two recognized subspecies of the Metallic-green Tanager (Storer 1970):
-labradorides Boissinneau 1840; type locality Santa-Fé de Bogota [Colombia]
Occurs in western and central Colombia and in western Ecuador (Storer 1970, Hilty and Brown 1986, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001).
-chaupensis Chapman 1925; type locality Chaupe, Cajamarca, Peru
Occurs in southeastern Ecuador and in northern Peru (Storer 1970, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001, Schulenberg et al. 2007).

Emerald Damselfly
Also known as the spreadwing as it belongs to a group of damsels which mostly perch with their wings open like a true dragonfly, rather than held closed along the length of the abdomen like most other damsels.
Their metallic green casings make them unlikely to be confused with any other species (in our region at least), the only other metallic green damsel being the female Banded Demoiselle, but colour is the only thing they have in common, the demoiselles are obviously bigger, longer legged, are green in their entirety and the wings are very large in comparison and tinted green, plus they are usually only found on rivers, emeralds very rarely are.
The last of the damsels to emerge, they aren't usually seen until July, and will be the only damsel remaining in late season, lasting through September.

With so many great themes to choose from I decided to start at the top of the list and work down and try to fit as many themes in to one photo.So starting with January 9th: Member's Choice--Inspired by a Song (Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf)
As it has a little heart I thought it would also fit February 13th theme: Heart
As its metallic it fits March 13th: Member's Choice: Made of Metal
Next on the list is October 30th theme: Halloween (my favorite holiday).
Last on the list is December 18th theme: Lit by Candlelight as this was how it was lit : )

After big seas the beach sand always gets moved and new forms appear. These pools and channels gave some lovely movement to the normal mirror like surface. Metallic Cloud is by Damien Jurado.
