I know for sure there are more stunning images than mine of Britain and many from most of my flickr contacts, but I'm not going to shy away from sharing a moment.

Another memorable sunset in Bandon Oregon. The beached jellyfish is not a great specimen but it is a glowing jellyfish and I think that should count for something. :)

Many thanks for stopping by! Hope you catch an awesome sunset soon!

The last of the views along the trail atop The Hangings at Whiteleaf, Buckinghamshire. Always a memorable time when these conditions occur.

First light on some of the Ten Peaks reflected in Moraine Lake. My soul was singing as I experienced this memorable morning. The air was crisp and chilly, all was quiet (the buses hadn't arrived yet; had it to myself) and the show was amazing. Still smiling from this special dawn.

A couple more shots from this lovely dawn in comments:

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

During a trip to Hawaii, my husband and I stayed in a private home on the property that also housed a parrot sanctuary. The owners of the property invited us inside the large aviaries to meet their feathered friends. This gorgeous bird was one of my favorites. His original owners had brought him to the sanctuary as he was much too loud to live in the small apartment with his owners. During our visit he was quietly investigating the metal bar of the aviary and seemed oblivious to us.

Unusual, intriguing, memorable! The Cannonball tree is one of my favorite tropical trees with sea-anemone-like flowers whose sweet enticing fragrance can be enjoyed a field away. It has large hard brown fruit that clang like Cannonballs in the tropical forest at night. The flowers don't erupt on the upper branches either but on root-like branches around the base of the trunk! At night the flowers are particularly aromatic to attract swift-flying pollinators including bats. This particular Cannonball tree was collected in 1913 at Jamaica’s Hope Gardens and has flourished here at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden since it was planted in 1938.

According to textual records, Couroupita guianensis trees have been growing in India for at least 3,000 years, where it is so revered that it is often found growing at religious temples. It's possible that it is native to India as well. Part of the Lecythidaceae family, it grows up to 25m (82ft) in height. The majority of Cannonball trees that grow outside their natural environment were planted as botanical curiosities. Their large orange, scarlet and pink flowers form bunches that measure up to 3m in length. The large spherical, woody fruits, which range from 15 to 24cm in diameter, each contain up to 300 seeds.

It is usually this time of year that we head on up to Mannum on the Murray River for a holiday. Unlikely to happen this year, so I couldn't resist a trip back through the archives for some of my favourite sunrise moments. This was always the best way to start every day up there. Up early, a mug of hot coffee, and sit quietly on the deck, just me and the birds all slowly coming to life.

While wandering through the gardens outside our lodgings in Hawaii, I was drawn to a plant featuring brightly colored flowers.

When focusing on an individual blossom, I realized a small face was looking at me. Egads!

Before migration begins I have made a mental list of and plan for warbler images I'd like to achieve. Many of my ideas come from viewing images from my flickr friends. This was one of those.

I spent just a few brief minutes with this bird but they were memorable.

One of the most memorable dawn and sunrises I have ever seen

at Lindisfarne on our recent photography break in Northumberland...it just gave and gave.

Worth the very early start to witness.

This photograph was taken earlier this week at Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, and is one of the world's largest flower gardens.

It was a beautiful day of sunshine, with many flowers in Keukenhof in full bloom. This photograph captured a number of visitors posing to record the memorable scenes. The colourful tulips in the foreground provided reason for this joyful occasion.

Best wishes for a relaxing Sunday!

Expectantly , we watched as the silent , hungry fish suddenly leaped skyward for tempting flies as the frisky Loons and Canada geese flew flapping from us ; a memorable end to a giddy , unforgettable and unusual hot Spring day ...

24 C it was lovely

I'm cleaning up the archives to delete old images that are just taking up space and came across this series from a wonderful sunrise out on the marshlands on the edge of the Bay. The future of these former salt evaporation ponds is still hotly contested. Developers want to put hundreds of homes there, but many of us want it restored to marshland.

This image was taken with my first DSLR nearly 10 years ago, and many images of that era aren't worth looking at - but this one is !

A very memorable morning at Lake Crowley. We were heading to Convict Lake to meet up with friends but once we saw this cloud over us, all plans changed.

Please forgive me for doing a repost of an old image, but I have learned a few tricks since when this shot was taken on how to make the image more like what I saw. This is very, very close.

The Boboli Gardens in Florence was impressive, not only for the flora growing there, but the sculptures placed throughout the historic park.

It was opened to the public in 1766. Originally created for the Medici family, it represents one of the first and most important examples of an Italian garden.

The water for the fountains and ability to water the plants came about through an interesting method. As the garden lacks a natural water source, a conduit was built to feed water from the nearby Arno River into an elaborate irrigation system.
