Mittens sitting on the hallway runner rug, pondering the mysteries of life as a Siberian Forest Cat living in Adelaide Australia.
Actually, she is more likely to be thinking:
1. it is time for breakfast, shall i have dry buscuits or wait for chicken wings?
2. i want a cuddle from someone, preferably Michael.
3. why do they always take my live catch away and let it go in the garden?
With its black and white plumage, long, thin plnk legs, and long neck, the Black-necked Stilt is both striking and delicate in appearance. It is a medium-sized shorebird with a black needle-like bill, black or dark brown upperparts, and a white breast. The iris is red, and there is a white spot above the eye. Breeding males have glossy black wings, back, and back of neck, and a pink tinge on the breast. Non-breeding males lack the glossiness and pink tinge. Adult females have a brown tinge to the back. Juveniles have brown upperparts with buff feather margins, and a white trailing edge to the wing in flight.
Listen to its calls
Compare with Black-winged Stilt.

One of my very favorite Zen gardens. If you sit at the side and meditate, you will never see all 15 rocks completely. It's a symbol of the incompleteness of human perception.
You have to go there early in the morning, because during the day it gets extremely busy. I get endlessly annoyed by tourists standing and screaming at the top of their lungs that they can see all the 15 rocks (it's constructed for sitting meditation!).
"Ryōan-ji (Shinjitai: 竜安寺, Kyūjitai: 龍安寺, The Temple of the Dragon at Peace) is a Zen temple located in northwest Kyoto, Japan. It belongs to the Myōshin-ji school of the Rinzai branch of Zen Buddhism. The Ryōan-ji garden is considered one of the finest surviving examples of kare-sansui ("dry landscape"), a refined type of Japanese Zen temple garden design generally featuring distinctive larger rock formations arranged amidst a sweep of smooth pebbles (small, carefully selected polished river rocks) raked into linear patterns that facilitate meditation. The temple and its gardens are listed as one of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto, and as a UNESCO World Heritage Site." (Wikipedia)

He didn't seem to mind me spotting him, about 10 feet away, hiding. For he was zen.

forgot to upload this ages ago. Just Eden showing off that she can cross her legs neatly without any popouts like Finnian has.
Look over the edge of the cliff and the bottom quickly flees from your eyes.
There are only two ways to catch the bottom; the slow, arduous way, and the very, very fast way. I recommend the slow way...
