The MB-2 was the US Army's standard bomber in the early and mid-20s. It was intended to operate at night, and sacrificed speed for greater payload. Power came from two Liberty V-12 engines.
In 1921 MB-2s under the command of Gen. Billy Mitchell sank several unmanned warships, including the pre-dreadnought Alabama and the German battleship Ostfriesland, as a demonstration of bomber capabilities.
This aircraft is a reproduction. There are no surviving MB-2s.
