Hallo,
ich bin seit ca. 5 Jahren dabei eine kleine Auto - Sammlung zusammenzutragen - zustellen, die überwiegend aus Old - und Youngtimern besteht, sowie der Sparte US - Cars and Bikes.
Leider ist das noch nicht so viel, da ich selbst ohne Auto bin, auf den ÖNV angewiesen bin und dadurch nicht überall zu Veranstaltungen oder Meetings fahren kann.
Ich liebe diese alten Automobile, welche alle noch einen eigenen Charakter besitzen, an deren Motorengeräusch, Scheinwerfern, Rückleuchten oder Türzuschlagen man dass Modell erkennen konnte. Bei den Oldtimern sind es teilweise Kindheitserinnerungen und bei den Youngtimern habe ich einige Wagen auch selbst gefahren.
Leider sehen die neuen Automobile heute alle unisono aus,
Deshalb sollte man wenigstens in dieser Beziehung die Erinnerung pflegen, die Zeiten waren sicher auch nicht besser, aber die Autos sahen dafür schöner aus.

Given to me by a friend it was in very poor condition so I ripped it appart and "rebuilt it".
Sandblasted the body and repainted it in Volvo Penta black with actual Volvo paint. I then removed the windows as they were cracked and hazy. Then I got some bigger wheels and lowered the car. Finally I added some details such as painted the lights, grille, and door handles.

I was surprised that the buses on the running day turned here by driving into Ford Manor Lane and then reversing back onto the "main" road (with the aid of a banksman) rather than simply driving round the island as used to happen with the 428 in LCBS days. I know the MB is longer than the XFs that were common on the 428, but it never seemed so tight that you couldn't have done it with a 36-footer.
But then, to be fair, I've never driven one.
