Cirebon Mask dance The Mask dance was developed and expanded among the people of Cirebon and around the area before the islamic religion entered. Sunan Kalijaga took advantage of the dance as a missionary endeavor to spread the islamic religion. Therefore, many of the Cirebon mask are imbued by islamic philosophies.
The Cirebon Mask Dance has fifive dance principles, namely Panji, Samba, rumyang, Temenggung and Rahwana (Klana). Those fifive dances stand alone and are not biased if united with each other. All fifive have different characteristic and accompanied with different instruments.

A Mexican style Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) mask contemplates a skull. The colours here are deliberately chosen for their surreal effect.

* I should add these days (I suppose). This is NOT an AI image, It is a multiple exposure made photograph. It is photography.
I've been turning over in my mind for a while now the idea of the masks we all put on, and what we present to others. The result is this slightly more conceptual kind of image to remind myself that portraits just capture one of many faces; I also included the sketches I made in the process as part of the final image.
Strobist: Softbox on camera uper left as key. Fill from flash bounced on a wall on camera right, lower on a tripod so it hits the arm and the magazine. A third gridded flash is beamed upwards from below the scissors for added specular detail, these are also slightly pointed towards the key light to capture its reflection.

BinaryHearts presents its Malicious Kitsune Mask, hand painted, 100% mesh and smartly scripted, just like our first one, but with a bit of Malice inside.
Allowing heavy customization with it's 5 levels of customization (Base mask Layer, Motifs layer, Laces, Bells and Decals layer) you are the only one who'll choose how your mask will look by mixing textures and colors togethers.
3 type of Motifs and texture set are availables with 6 colors each and tintable white, plus 14 base mask textures and 8 decals.
Decals layer is also made to achieve subtle LED glowing effects, using the 8 integrated decals or using your own one, as the mask itself is modifiable so modding is possible.
Place it all around your head with 2 clicks: Our script allow to quickly switch from 4 areas (Face, Top, Left & Right) and if you need to adjust it, no worry, the script will automatically save your customized position to restore it when you'll need to switch again.

“Nogitsune are notorious tricksters. One of their favorite activities is transforming in order to trick foolish humans. They use their power to scare people, and often to steal things from them as well.”
White chocolate masks in the chocolate shop window for Halloween one year.
I thought of taking some of our Covid masks, but then decided not too. So I took a photo of these off my computer, but had to do a bit of changes to it, due to a strange colour and screen noise.
Maybe view large, and thank you for your favourites. :)

Just over a week ago, the radar showed a potential break in the storm that was raining up and down the west coast of California. So what does any self respecting seascape photographer do? I made my way to one of my favorite local spots and enjoyed the stormy light at the beach.
This is the infamous "hole" in Hole in the Wall beach. I've passed through here hundreds of times, often running from the waves that wash through here. The tide was pretty low on this evening, and the arch was taller than usual as the storms had scoured out a lot of sand. The low tide did allow for some nice sunset reflections vs. having water movement in the foreground. I'd like to try this composition again with more waves, but the sand has already started to build back up and the interesting rocks along the bottom are starting to get covered up.
This image easily had too much dynamic range for a single exposure and is a result of double processing a single RAW file and blending it with a bracketed "fused" image using the Exposure Fusion function in Photomatix. I am keen to try more advanced image blending techniques for shots such as this where traditional filter use and single exposures just don't work.
Anyway, hope everyone had a great weekend and as always, thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it!
