Castle Gate Cemetery for Castle Gate Ghost town infamous for the horrific mine disaster of 1924.
The Castle Gate mine disaster occurred on March 8, 1924, in a coal mine near the town of Castle Gate, Utah (now dismantled), All of the 171 men working in the mine were killed in the series of three violent explosions. One worker, the leader of the rescue crew, died from carbon monoxide inhalation while attempting to reach the victims shortly after the explosion.
To add to the tragedy, two weeks prior to the explosion, the Utah Fuel Company had laid off many of the unmarried miners and miners without dependents during a period of reduced orders for coal. As a result, 114 of the men who were killed in the disaster were married men, leaving behind 415 widows and fatherless children.

Above you'll find our advent calendar schedule. Each creator on our sim is allocated two days in the advent calendar. During this time, you are urged to visit their main store on the Foxcity sim to grab their specially curated gift free.
If you do, however, miss their two-day window, you can still grab their gift, however it will no longer be in their store or for free.
For those who are late or missed out on a specific calendar day, the 'past' gifts will be moved under the shared Christmas tree. They will no longer be free but they will still be discounted all the way through to Christmas.

I'd like to clarify how the Noel Express Calendar at the Foxcity sim works ♥
We have 14 participating main stores, offering gifts every two days, all the way through to Christmas. We do *NOT* use an advent calendar script because our gifts *WILL* still be available after each day ends (past gifts will be moved under the big shared Christmas tree for a discounted price.)
All gifts are *NOT* available at the same time. Each store has two days between 1 - 24 December to offer their gift, then we move on to the next store and so on.
The calendar itself was made to help the customer follow which store is giving out their gift and when.The calendar does not dispense gifts. It is for your convenience only ♥
The gifts can be found in each allocated store during their allocated days. Look around, it could be under the tree or clearly marked as a gift :)

Lake Edward, Uganda - Boldly marked black-and-white kingfisher with short, bushy crest and glossy all-dark bill. Superficially similar to Crested Kingfisher, but smaller, with a much more distinctly patterned head and breast and less erect crest. Frequently seen perched in pairs or small groups. Often hovers over water when seeking prey. Inhabits a wide range of waterside habitats, from lakes to estuaries to mangroves.
I bought a set of six vintage dolls to hang on my Christmas tree some years ago. I decided to name them after the six wives of Henry VIII. This one is Anne Boleyn.
"Anne Boleyn was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536, as the second wife of King Henry VIII. The circumstances of her marriage and execution, by beheading for treason, made her a key figure in the political and religious upheaval that marked the start of the English Reformation."
I know that these guys are common, but when I happen upon one of these Orgyia leucostigma cats in such pristine condition I cannot resist taking at least a few photos.

These poor trees are marked for removal all over our neighbourhood. Most likely due to the Emerald Ash Borer problem we were facing. Luckily most of the trees were saved, however the damage has been done.
I found this picture looked best zoomed in a bit more, however I wanted the X to be visible.

Located in northern Finland, the Korouoma Nature Reserve is an impressive area known for its deep gorge, steep rock walls and beautiful waterfalls. The reserve is a popular destination for nature lovers, hikers, climbers and adventurers. One of the most striking features of Korouoma is the 30 kilometer long gorge, which in some places is more than 100 meters deep. This gorge was created by glacial erosion during the last ice age and is surrounded by imposing rock walls of limestone and quartzite. There are several marked trails that vary in length and difficulty, allowing both novice and experienced hikers to find something to suit their level. The reserve is also home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including rare plants, birds and mammals. It is an excellent place for bird watchers, with chances to see birds of prey, owls and other bird species. It is a true treasure for nature lovers and a must-visit destination for anyone who wants to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Finnish wilderness.
A hike to Korouoma in the snow is an enchanting experience that takes you deep into the winter wilderness of Lapland. During the winter months, Korouoma transforms into a fairytale landscape covered in a thick layer of snow, making it an idyllic destination for adventurous hikers and nature lovers. One of the highlights of the walk to Korouoma is the Koronjää. A beautiful circular walk of about 12 km along an impressive ice wall that is created by the freezing of water that seeps from the rock walls. This ice wall can reach enormous dimensions and is a spectacular sight, especially in winter. As you walk through the snow-covered paths of Korouoma, you will be surrounded by serene silence and breathtaking views of snow-capped trees, frozen waterfalls and glittering ice formations. The white splendor of nature creates a magical atmosphere that enchants your senses and lets you experience the beauty of winter in a unique way. It is important to wear warm clothes and suitable footwear as temperatures in Lapland can be very cold during winter.
Despite the challenges of winter conditions, a hike to Korouoma in the snow offers an unforgettable experience full of adventure, wonder and the chance to enjoy the untouched beauty of the Finnish wilderness in its most magical season.
Het Korouoma Nature Reserve, gelegen in het noorden van Finland, is een indrukwekkend gebied dat bekend staat om zijn diepe kloof, steile rotswanden en prachtige watervallen. Het reservaat is een populaire bestemming voor natuurliefhebbers, wandelaars, klimmers en avonturiers. Eén van de meest opvallende kenmerken van Korouoma is de 30 kilometer lange kloof, die op sommige plaatsen meer dan 100 meter diep is. Het reservaat herbergt ook een rijke verscheidenheid aan flora en fauna, waaronder zeldzame planten, vogels en zoogdieren. Het is belangrijk om warme kleding en geschikt schoeisel te dragen, omdat de temperaturen in Lapland tijdens de winter erg koud kunnen zijn. I swear, one day I will stop with the horizontal pictures. Really.
Aaaaaand another commission finished. I had this one here for quite a long time because it consists of a shitton of steps. Face-Up, body blushing, airbrushing of the fantasy parts, scars...I have to say though that working with him was just pure bliss. Everything worked out right away, same for taking the pictures.
Loongsoul has an AWESOME quality and now I want to repaint Dok too.

This image of a rugged part of Mercury’s surface was captured by the ESA/JAXA BepiColombo mission on 4 September 2024 as the spacecraft sped by for its fourth of six gravity assist manoeuvres at the planet.
It was taken at 23:51 CEST by the Mercury Transfer Module’s monitoring camera 3 (M-CAM 3), just three minutes after closest approach, when the spacecraft was only about 221 km from the planet’s surface. The spacecraft’s closest approach of 165 km took place at 23:48 CEST.
M-CAM 3 was looking straight down towards the surface of Mercury when taking the image. This factor, combined with the very close distance to Mercury, makes this the highest resolution image we’ll ever get from this camera.
The back of the Mercury Planetary Orbiter’s high-gain antenna and part of the spacecraft’s body are also visible in front of Mercury in this image. Mercury Planetary Orbiter is one of two orbiters that will separate from the carrier spacecraft following arrival in orbit around Mercury.
North is to the upper left.

The arrow-marked babbler is a medium-sized babbler, 22 to 25 cm (8.7–9.8 in) in length and weighing 56 to 85 g (2.0–3.0 oz). The common name for the species is derived from its plumage, which is brownish-grey above and lighter below, with white tips to the feathers on the throat, neck and head. The outer iris is bright red and the inner bright yellow or orange. Males and females are identical in appearance. Juveniles have brown eyes and less arrow-shaped streaking on the breast.
