What a magic time of year!! Enjoy your friends and family, but be sure to open your heart to those that are less fortunate!!!
Every day I wake up and get excited to work on my snail project and some days I do feel like I photograph magic. I find myself enthusiastically sharing it with others when then ask about my hobbies. But later when I am viewing real and honest images of true moments I feel like my images are so staged and superficial. Finding and photographing the real moments in my life doesn't work for me though. Whenever I am fully into what I am doing or experiencing with my family the last thing I want to do is ruin the moment by trying to frame and expose an image. How do people get amazing photos of their families without driving their kids nuts? How can you be part of the magic and capture it too?
This little Red-eyed tree frog is such a star. It was great to see her again at my photography day with CaptiveLight in Bournemouth.

What a beautiful spot for an afternoon swim outdoors - enjoying the magic and nature of Magic Lake on Pender Island, BC :-)
(You can even see a large dragonfly looking like a distant helicopter, top-right.) It's the stuff idyllic summer memories are made of.

A "Dult" is in southeastern German-speaking countries a fair with folk festival character. A dult may take place on the saint's name day or on a general church holiday, but is less related to the religious background than a church feast. In Regensburg, people are celebrating the "Mai-Dult" held in May, every year.
Early in the morning, the fairground is quiet and deserted.
A rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae. There are over three hundred species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing, or trailing, with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwestern Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Roses have acquired cultural significance in many societies. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height. Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses. 60371

[This is the seventh photo of the Magic Beach "series"]
It came as a big surprise. I had been at this beach a couple of years ago. This time, the idea was once again to shoot sunset, with the golden light bathing the peaks of the mountains standing on the other side of the fjord.
But, once I noticed some curious rocks and closed in on them, the landscape/seascape planned shots were immediately forgotten.

'Magic Mushrooms' Effective for Severe Depression.
Psilocybin, the psychoactive compound in “magic mushrooms,” is a promising intervention for patients with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and appears to offer a rapid, sustained effect, new research shows.
Investigators led by David Nutt, MD, PhD, professor of neuropsychopharmacology, Imperial College, London, United Kingdom, collected pre- and posttreatment fMRI data on the use of psilocybin in 19 patients with severe major depression who had failed to respond to conventional treatments.

Just remember that Dumbo didn't need the feather;
the magic was in him.
(Stephen King)
Significance:
In the 1941 Disney movie Dumbo, a little elephant with big ears, can fly.
Dumbo thinks the reason he's able to fly is because of a (black) feather he carries in his trunk. For him, that feather is the source of all his confidence, a reminder that he's capable of magical things.
Looking close... on Friday! - Feathers (black and white)
