In the quiet heart of the forest, delicate mushrooms rise from an old mossy stump, catching the last warm light of the day.
I wanted to capture the feeling of calm and hidden life — the soft glow beneath their caps, the gentle textures of moss, and the timeless silence of the woods.
Photo has been composed of 50 shots using focus stacking.

I admit I had trouble with the lighting in this shot. The center was so light that the trees of the forest came out really dark in the original shot. I did some post-processing to let the variety of fall colors come out and decided to go for a dreamy, fairy-tale like softer look. Will upload the non-dreamy version later for comparison.

In December we headed to Lenzerheide above Chur, a ski resort in the Swiss Alps. At night we went to the Zauberwald (Magic Forest), an event with outdoor art exhibit, food and concerts. This ever moving laser show was mesmerizing.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Norwegian forests remind me of the German forests of my childhood: lush, green, wet and rich in different mosses, trees, and ferns. Unfortunately, in my region, forests are mostly dry nowadays, orange and dead. It was quite magical to step into this Norwegian fairytale close to Bergen and experience nature at its best.
