I'm losing my mojo. I don't know how i am so caught up with macro photography. I want a zoom lens but cannot afford one. I'll save up I guess and try to offer to you guys another perspective of the world I live in. Argh I'm gonna have overtime tomorrow and we are having Flickr gathering with teh!
PS : I added no texture for this shot, those are noise due to lowlight :D But I'll keep it, it kinda add some character to this ants world.

I can't recall why we thought this was a good picture! Possibly some pun about riding the waves?
Oddly enough, I never overheated in this costume, in spite of some of the beach picnic days being scorchers! Never got sunburnt either.
Apart from the pane in front, which I could open for extra ventilation the usual 'chimney flue effect' that I built into the helmet seemed to keep me cool. A vent in the top of the helmet (disguised as a pressure relief valve) lets warm out out, drawing cool air in through vents at the neck. I've taken advantage of this effect in several costumes, and only had to build electric fans into a couple of the more extreme ones.
Obviously I didn't take this piccy meself. I'm ninety percent sure that my friend Gail Adams probably did.
This picture was published in a Dutch language handbook where it was (I think!) used to illustrate a point about style errors or somesuch. What a hoot! It's also been used on the cover of a U.S American band's CD (Six Foot Model), and keeps popping up in other locations.

Been listening to "Mad World" courtesy of the Donnie Darko soundtrack recently so that title seemed very fitting. I have wanted to create an image like this for a very long time. It was an idea that I had in my first year of photography but never quite knew how to execute it, and I wanted to wait until I felt confident in executing something. I love remembering old ideas that never got carried out and just going for it. It is a way of mixing old ideas with new techniques, and I can only hope that it helps me grow.
I am headed to NYC tomorrow, and then St. Louis right after. I'm teaching 15 classes in 5 days....it sounds nuts...and it will be! I am verrrrrry excited though. I love teaching just about more than anything else in the world, so this will be a real treat for me. Hopefully I can still stand upright by the end of it, since I'm going on an adventure to visit castles in California directly after. What an adventure the rest of April will be!

I was so bored and all of a sudden, a great idea popped into my head! So I made this video by taking over 600 pictures over the course of 4 hours. And than it comes out to be a minute and 29 seconds long. How disheartening. I like it though.
