blauwtjes (LYCAENIDAE)
The Boomblauwtje is a rather small butterfly with a wingspan of 30 mm and feels most at home in and near trees and shrubs.
It is a butterfly that, despite its slender appearance, can bridge fairly large distances to, for example, start looking for a new beginning.
The tree blue is only short-lived; after about 14 days his age is over. But they have no stilts, because great distances have been covered and they have laid 40 to 70 eggs on sporke wood, ivy and holly.
The caterpillars hatch from the eggs after four days. After eighteen days, the caterpillar pupates into a butterfly.

Photo captured in the wild, under natural light, in Austria.
Early morning on the Greek island of Kos. Near the psalidi wetlands, a small field of dry grass and herbs contained some wonderful insects, like this beautiful butterfly. It blended very well in the orange light of the sunrise. It truly was a golden hour!
