The bridge-way for pedestrians over Lyari River, leading towards the SME industrial zone that exists into the SITE. This is the nearest way for the laborers working into these industries and live in nearby areas. During the rain -when this bed seems to be a larger river, filled with the roaring water flow, it become difficult for those working there to reach at their work places with the convenience and they have to opt for the alternate way.
Still you can see away there a little flock of those laborers going toward their work.

Lyari Girls Cafe organized an event Let's Go cycling to mark the International Day of the Girl in Karachi, Pakistan, on Oct. 11, 2019. which aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges faced by girls while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.
Aao Cycle Chalaen was the theme of the #IDG commemorated by the Lyari Girls Café at the beach of Karachi. The cycling event is organized to commemorate the day and launch anti plastic campaign “ Say No to Plastic Bags” and Let’s Go Cycling.
International Day of the Girl! Honoured to Chief Guest Mr. Mark Rakestraw, Deputy Head of Mission, from the British Deputy High Commission Karachi and Ms. Maren Dick Consular Attaché of the German Consulate also participated.
The event was aimed to demonstrate girl’s power to assert and more than 100 girls form the Lyari Girls Café and other parts of the city took part in cycling show. The girls dedicated the day to environmental protection and promotion of eco friendly practices. The event is organized to Launch Environmental rights Campaign “ Say No to Plastic Bags” a campaign initiated by Lyari Girls Café is planned to raise awareness among citizens to stop using plastic and adopt cotton bags. The environmental campaign of girls is planned in the Lyari area and cotton bags are distributed. Girls are planning to make streets free of plastic bags in Lyari and planning to plant more than 1000 trees in the public spaces and schools.
We believe that cycling would make Karachi an environmental friendly city where girls would have increased access to public sapces and girls would feel protected and confident riding cycles. Cycling is sport and fun together which offers healthy ride, cost free transportation which reduces noise and air pollution. Cycling is also means to claim on public spaces and turn the corners of the city into girls’ friendly space.
Besides girls cycling the event was also comprised of awareness rasing and large number of community memebers attended the event.
with the theme of GirlForce: Unscripted and unstoppable, we will work together with girls in supporting them to amplify their voices and stand up for their rights.

Trade mark of Liyaari are these donkey carts where everybody uses this as the mean of transportation.Till today, there are very less Rickshaws or cars on Roads what you find is these unique donkey carts.

Kashti Masjid is adjacent to Dhobi ghaat in Liyaari.It's a mosque which is built in a shape of a ship reflecting creativity and different school of thoughts at Karachi.
This little girl is a child from Lyari, an infamous area of Karachi, Pakistan, plagued by gang wars and mafias. A conflict-zone by every standard. But the children & youth of Lyari are bright, talented, hopeful, and want a chance at better tomorrows.
The view of outside of the football ground where these two kids are all geared up for the enthralling football match.
The race use to carry out from Cantt Station level crossing till Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine Mella (festival). This mela traditionally use to hold on every Thursday and use to cater mainly low income social class. The participants of this race mostly use to be from Lyari area and their profession was to use these donkey carts for loading purpose during the day in the wholesale market of old Karachi. In early 90’s after the construction of Mai Koolachi by-pass the race routed from West Wharf Bridge till Abdullah Shah Ghazi. Now this race starts from Mai Koolachi level crossing and ends at Jinnah Bridge. The traditional Mela is vanished due to the construction of Baghe Ibne Qasim.
These twos are also trying their luck as to find out more of their use from the garbage heap....
