'First Message' is the debut studio album by Messengers, a large German jazz-rock/fusion ensemble from Berlin, released in 1975 via Red Point.
Messengers was a Berlin-based collective of over a dozen musicians, characterized by a rich horn section, funk-soul flair, and progressive touches. The main composer and trumpeter was Bernhard Jobski, later known for the symphonic work Einstein in Eden. Vocal duties included contributions from Antonia Maas and Gary Gordon.
After First Message, the band expanded its orchestral and progressive sound in their 1977 follow‑up, Children of Tomorrow, considered a more adventurous work.
