A total lunar eclipse took place between September 27 and 28, 2015. It was seen Sunday evening, September 27, in the Americas; while in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, it was seen in the early hours of Monday morning, September 28. It was the latter of two total lunar eclipses in 2015, and the final in a tetrad (four total lunar eclipses in series). Other eclipses in the tetrad are those of April 15, 2014, October 8, 2014, and April 4, 2015.

Crappy picture from my tiny camera. If only you could see what I saw through GT astronomy club's amazing telescope. I even saw the shape of Saturn!

March 14, 2025 - San Diego, California photographed from our backyard. Chilly conditions with strong winds and rapidly passing clouds created challenging conditions. My telephoto lens is a relatively slow f/6.3 at 600 mm and high ISOs of 4000 and 5000 provided the best results. Periodic openings allowed viewing from 11 pm until ten minutes after midnight. Totality at our location was at 11:59 pm. The first image was taken at 12:07 am. The second was taken earlier at 11:48 pm with my cellphone camera.
