I will sing you morning lullabies

You are beautiful and peaceful this way

I know you have to close your eyes on everyone

Let me help you, I'll sing you to sleep

With morning lullabies

listen

I love cats. So much. But my dad won't let me have one D:

"If I could give you three things,

I would give you these:

Song and laughter and a wooden home

In the shining seas

chorus:

When you see old Isle au Haut

Rising in the dawn,

You will play in yellow fields

In the morning sun.

Sleep where the wind is warm

And the moon is high.

Give sadness to the stars,

Sorrow to the sky.

(chorus)

Do you hear what the sails are saying

In the wind's dark song?

Give sadness to the wind,

Blown alee and gone.

(chorus)

Sleep now, the moon is high,

And the wind blows cold;

For you are sad and young

And the sea is old.

(chorus)"

From "Isle Au Haut Lullaby" by Gordon Bok

(This song, if you are interested, is on Gordon Bok's beautiful "Turning Towards the Morning" CD.)

The rumors flew, but nobody knew how much she blamed herself

For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath

She finally drank her pain away a little at a time

But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind

Until the night

She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger

And finally drank away his memory

Life is short but this time it was bigger

Than the strength she had to get up off her knees

We found her with her face down in the pillow

Clinging to his picture for dear life

We laid her next to him beneath the willow

While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

It has been too long! I had so much to say here that I unfortunately forgot it all.

This photo was taken for an assignment and I was able to go the conceptual route for the first time YAY, which was pretty great. Photoshop, however, despised me throughout the entire process and it's a wonder this is even finished haha.

This photo by Tim Walker was the inspiration :)

P.S. If any of you are in the London area, a photo of mine is going to be on display at Chalk House Gallery from November 29th to January 11th!

Also, a book cover I created for the wonderful Chiara Gamberale came out yesterday, take a peek! :)

…Okay, maybe I didn't forget everything ;) I hope you guys are doing well! Sending the biggest hugs you can imagine ♥ ♥ ♥

Lullaby

Found this old tune that perfectly fits with my current mood.

Je viens de retrouver cet air un peu vieux mais qui colle parfaitement a mon humeur actuelle.

*IC PHOTO OF AERILIN VOLKOVA TAKEN BY HER BOYFRIEND BASTION*

Lay your sleeping head, my love,

Human on my faithless arm;

Time and fevers burn away

Individual beauty from

Thoughtful children, and the grave

Proves the child ephemeral:

But in my arms till break of day

Let the living creature lie,

Mortal, guilty, but to me

The entirely beautiful.

Soul and body have no bounds:

To lovers as they lie upon

Her tolerant enchanted slope

In their ordinary swoon,

Grave the vision Venus sends

Of supernatural sympathy,

Universal love and hope;

While an abstract insight wakes

Among the glaciers and the rocks

The hermit’s carnal ecstasy.

Certainty, fidelity

On the stroke of midnight pass

Like vibrations of a bell,

And fashionable madmen raise

Their pedantic boring cry:

Every farthing of the cost,

All the dreaded cards foretell,

Shall be paid, but from this night

Not a whisper, not a thought,

Not a kiss nor look be lost.

Beauty, midnight, vision dies:

Let the winds of dawn that blow

Softly round your dreaming head

Such a day of welcome show

Eye and knocking heart may bless,

Find the mortal world enough;

Noons of dryness find you fed

By the involuntary powers,

Nights of insult let you pass

Watched by every human love.

Ain't no storm that lasts forever

Ain't no chains that can't be freed

So I sing for all the dreamers

For the lost who long for peace

Sing me a sinner's lullaby

Soft and sweet 'neath a moonlit sky

Rock me easy, rock me slow

Let the melody heal my soul

No regrets, no goodbye

Just a sinner's lullaby

Straight from the camera.

Done in collaboration with missmoody.

After crawling around in a pitch black, cold and moist cave, I decided this photo either works out with only one take or not at all... Luckily it turned out just the way I hoped! :)

Not very conceptual just to polish this week off. Hope you have good evening

edward plays the music he wrote which was inspired by bella.

It was wonderful sunset adventure with my good flickrfriends Manuela, Gudrun, Stefan and Jon on Roßtrappe - but stormy like you wouldn't believe....

...

The Roßtrappe is a 403-metre-high (1,322 ft) granite crag in the Harz mountains of central Germany.

According to legend, a giant once followed the king’s beautiful daughter, Brunhilde, whom he wanted to marry against her will. Brunhilde escaped on a white stallion (German: Ross), but was suddenly confronted by a deep ravine. Her horse leapt in one bound to the rocks on the other side, but her pursuer fell into the depths below. The impression of the horse’s hoof may still be seen today.

Scientists suspect that this imprint in the rock is the weathered remains of a Germanic altar basin. (Wikipedia)
