I can't stand this weather anymore.
This is supposed to be springtime and it feels like late autumn instead.
This is lasting way too long for my body to be able and face it.
Will we get colour back?

This lonely shoe hung out on the street for about 5 days before it vanished.

i took this image this morning with the Sony QX1. It was cold I don't like the cold. I'm discovering that I prefer the Sony QX1 on my camera versus walking with it attached to my wrist. I do however need to practice using it more. FYI it may be great for a street lens but it has a shutter sound when you press the shutter so be mindful. This was edited with Hipstamatic only.
View of the harbor in front of the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco's northern Marina District, with San Francisco Bay and Marin County in the distance.
Fort Mason, once known as San Francisco Port of Embarkation, US Army, in San Francisco, California, is a former United States Army post located in the northern Marina District, alongside San Francisco Bay. Fort Mason served as an Army post for more than 100 years, initially as a coastal defense site and subsequently as a military port facility. During World War II, it handled most of the cargo for the Pacific campaign. Today it is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and the site of several cultural facilities. It is a National Historic Landmark District with over 49 buildings of historic significance, spread over 1,200 acres (490 ha).

Defiant to the end, February decides to add another day.

I'm currently on a skiing holiday in the French Alps, so apologies to my contacts for not keeping up. The snow out here is wonderful, apparently the best for nearly 50 years!
This is a view from one of the runs I did today. For those in the know, this is on Jerusalem on route to St Martin in the Three Valleys.

A lush, wooded glen alongside the creek at the bottom of Big Santa Anita Canyon. The canyon is one of several that carve their way deep into the San Gabriel mountains, towering from one to two miles directly overhead. Filled with waterfalls, ferns, firs & pines, and a wide variety of wildlife -- including black bears, mountain lions, bobcats, mule deer, and bighorn sheep -- most people have no idea just how much wilderness is directly accessible to the L.A. area's eighteen million people. This particular spot is just thirty minutes from downtown Los Angeles.

...o meglio, molto più vicino c'è La California.
(...laggiù nella valle tra monti e montoni c'è sempre qualcuno che rompe i cogli*ni...)
The best-looking photo I've taken in a long time. My PhD diploma just arrived from Princeton -- it's official! Many years of hard work.

asherahamor: Beautiful work
so_jane: @asherahamor Thank you.
clence: Great shot Elena
so_jane: @clence Thanks a lot , Cally! Are you any where else; Eye'em, Flickr' etc?
clence: Well I just opened an Eye'em account. Despite my initial opposition to doing so. However, it's actually not my normal account pics that I'm posting. I saw you over there, will say hi. Just a little nervous about letting people know considering its content
so_jane: @clence yea, some of the content I will do without! It's certainly a little quieter and easier to manage just now. I like a lot of what I've seen. Again, we'll see how it plays out. All the best to you this Holiday season!
