A gloriously sunny walk around the gardens ... just finishing as the first clap of thunder rolled out of a big black cloud that appeared out of nowhere.

Rhododendrons were the stars of the day, closely followed by the Azaleas, which are just starting to tip over their peak. The fiery red Embothrium has never looked so good, likewise the Crinodendron.

The wallabies were rather lazy today. Several had joeys. There were geese with goslings. Ducks. And all the lovely sculptures.

Old Wall Mount Brackets by Ed Morales

The original wall mount brackets are a cantilever design.

Mortise and through tenon and glue joinery connects the members together.

The sign appeared to be sitting lower on one side. Closer inspection of the wall mount brackets revealed a slight separation at the mortise and tenon joint.
