Rebekach told us many interesting facts about the Lowell Observatory - though one of the more interesting (from my point of view) is that the Lowell family STILL owns the facility, after more than 100 years.

Day 1 (Thursday): We spent just enough time in Winslow to get our picture taken on the corner. Afterward, we went to the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff. Day 2 (Saturday): We spent the day at Grand Canyon.

That evening we saw both of us on the TV. The guy had really done this well, and Ryan came out looking even more intelligent than he is. We have been looking for this on the internet - but not found it yet :(

If I remember correctly, this was the first telescope - and is still being used, though mostly today for educational purposes. It is used for planetary obeservations.

We didn't get to see this one.
