Amy Blues, Part II

Low key image.

Montréal 28 août 2015

This photograph was taken in my closet. I placed my cell phone flashlight behind my head and used my tripod to take the picture. I tried to imitate some ideas I saw on the internet. I think I need a little more light to be able to clearly differentiate the subject. I hope to continue learning. It has definitely been my most challenging photograph.

With this photograph, I hope to convey feelings of mystery, seriousness, and artistic sentiments; that's what I want to evoke in my audience.

Jim not best pleased with me posting this!!

Modelo : Rafael Acardo

This is another in my series of "being strobist without a strobe" series, for those on a budget ;-)

On camera flash made off-camerary with a sheet of A4 held as close to the bottle as I could without intruding into the shot. The other factor that helped was the camera turned on its side so the on-camera flash was off-axis enough to be spread to one side only, I was only playing really, and unfortunately the sheet I picked up was the electricity bill so is covered in writing that you can see in the reflection. Oops. Apart from that, it turned out quite well.

Then standard selective colourisation a black and white layer and probably a bit of saturation increase to make the coloured bits really coloured. Unsharp mask on the black and white layer and I'm done.

What I was pleased with is that this doesn't look that different from the straight out of camera shot. The PP was tweaking a picture that I was already pleased with.
