Image was taken in daylight but lightroom 4 soon changed that ...

This was apart of a portrait session I forced some of my friends into doing for National Photo Day.

Olympus digital camera

A study in low-key lighting.

This was lit with a single Canon 580EX flash, low camera-left pointed up at the model at ½-power about 4-ft away and at a tight 105mm zoom. This was triggered with a Cactus-V4. The fill, such as it is, was a white backdrop on camera-right that simply reflected some flash light back onto the camera-right side of the face. I also did a B&W conversion, which I also like, but I think that the drama of the red shirt adds a lot to the composition. That shadowed portion of the face was a little too red from reflection, so I selected that shadow area and de-saturated it some.
