This is one of my favorite low-calorie snacks. Graham cracker with low-fat cream cheese, blueberries and a drizzle of honey. Tastes just like blueberry cheesecake. :o)))

Low calorie Christmas treat. How to make a low calorie treat- Put the Christmas bulbs on the tree and throw the cones in the trash...….LOL

Attendees included the "Head" of the Christmas Cookie Jar, Two Snow Birds, and three Cinnamon Toasted Crunch Cereal Characters! The party was short due to "freezing conditions," but sweet because ice cream and mixed berries were served as a treat.

...in the company of small pears & apples.

 

Not only delicious, but these fruits provide a treasure trove of low calorie health benefits!

Watermelon base, yogurt sauce, fruit toppings. Homemade but in a used BlackJack Pizza box.

My own discovery:

 

Quick homemade mango pudding

 

Recipe*

 

half a cup of Cottage cheese

one whole Ripened mango sliced/cubed

half a cup of whole milk

sugar as needed

 

blend all in a Blender and serve with sliced mangoes on top =)

Bought this on my way home from "Diet Care", this lil tiny mini cup was amazingly satisfaying !! So sweet, rich, creamy, and YUMMY!!

 

i can't believe its under 100 calorie!!

Greek Yogurt (brand: Fage) with berries are a great low calorie snack.

Phaseolus vulgaris or Green beans

 

Low in calories (just 43.75 calories in a whole cup), are rich with enough nutrients, an excellent

source of vitamin C, vitamin K and manganese. They also contain vitamin A (notably through their

concentration of carotenoids including beta-carotene), dietary fiber, potassium, folate, and iron.

And, green beans are a good source of magnesium, thiamin, riboflavin, copper, calcium, phosphorus, protein, omega-3 fatty acids and niacin.

Our old friend Punchy, usually seen decking the hapless Oaf in the Hawaiian Punch TV commercials of the sixties and seventies, smacks a woman on the butt to encourage her to shed those extra holiday pounds by drinking Low Calorie Hawaiian Punch. Most likely this product contained cyclamate, an artificial sweetener banned by the US Food and Drug Administration later that year.

 

This ad ran in the January 4, 1969 edition of TV Guide (right after the holidays). Coupon expired December 31, 1969, so don't bother cutting it out and taking it to your local store.

this is my pressure-cooker take on the original moosewood carrot soup recipe. its vegan until served.

ingredients

 

5 lbs washed carrots broken into 2-3 pieces each

4 cups vegetable stock (i used 2 veggie boullion cubes)

1.5 tsp salt

4 potatoes, peeled & cubed

4 tablespoons margarine

1 large yellow onion, sliced up

3 cloves garlic

1 cup roasted macadamia nuts

1 small ginger root shaved with vegetable peeler

1 tbsp olive oil

 

** mix-ins at time of serving - something to make it creamy, any of these:

(soy) milk

sour cream

yogurt

whipping cream

etc.

 

preparation

 

fry garlic and onions in oil until the onions are clear.

add all remaining ingredients to the pressure cooker and bring to a boil.

add lid to pressure cooker. cook 6 minutes at full pressure.

use cold water to release pressure after 6 minutes.

puree the soup in a food processor or blender

 

to serve

 

serve hot or cold.

mix in 1/4 cup of dairy or dairy substitute per bowl at serving time.

photos have minced macadamia nuts on top, that was good too.

 

according to the USDA database entry that i can find for carrot soup with cream (using milk instead of cream), this should have about 56 calories per cup.

- 1 Pillsbury® Lemon Cake Mix

- 1 Can of Diet coke

mix and bake .. no eggs .. no oil .. brush a little chocolate sauce on top just for the extra treat .

Calories: around 58 calorie per serving .. total servings 24 .

I am on a 1500 calorie diet. 150 pounds. 5'9". The toast is gluten free. Avacado, onions, egg plant, parsnips and zucchini. 700 calories. This is my usual breakfast.

Day one of our low calorie diet has started today and so far so good. When I have done other diets I have given up by the end of day one due to feeling hungry. I have been using the recipes from the Hairy Bikers diet book and they seem to be filling, tasty and low calorie which is surprising.

Last night Bethany helped me make granola, apple and plum compote, cheese and onion pasties and lemonade jelly. For dinner we had cajun chicken, potato wedges with a yogurt and chive dip which was really tasty.

Unfortunatly Bethany has been off school today with a sickness bug so hasn't really eaten much of our delights. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow.

Crazy lives and lack of time make us choose short and high-intensity workouts. Shirataki noodles are my new favorite thing! I don't ever really cook noodles as I try to keep my dinners relatively low carb since I eat a lot of grains during the day.

 

They're made out of tofu and yam flour and when you stir fry them it doesn't matter that they're not real noodles.

I'm not a coffee girl, but hot chocolate is my favourite thing in winter, so I thought I'd share it with my journal.

 

I love the smell of veggies sauteeing! Aubergine Bake 2.0 is well underway.

The only fat in this vegan recipe is whats naturally present in the spelt, and they're full of nutritious fresh ginger and molasses too. A dash of caramel-flavoured stevia really amps up the flavour.These are best eaten within a few days, though - the lack of oil dries them up quickly.

 

Recipe (makes 15):

 

2 tablespoons fresh gingerroot , chopped

3 tablespoons dark molasses

¼ cup dark brown sugar

1 packet caramel-flavoured stevia (I used Krisda)

3 tablespoons unsweetened pear puree or applesauce

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 ½ cups whole wheat flour or 1 ½ spelt flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

½ teaspoon sea salt

 

Preheat the oven to 350F and line two baking sheets with pachment or silicone liners.

In a food processor, finely dice or puree the fresh ginger, then add the molasses, sugar, stevia (if using), pear puree and vanilla and blend in thoroughly.

Add the flour, baking soda, pie spice and sale and pulse in until blended.

Optional: scrape into a bowl, cover and chill 1-6 hours.

Scoop teaspoon-sized balls of batter and slightly flatten between your palms.

Bake, one sheet at a time, for 8 minutes. Cool completely on the sheets.
