In my visit to Portugal, I saw this shy door in Sesimbra and quickly took a shot. Yesterday my Toronto daughter sent me a most moving video, done in Montreal by 4 young men. That caused me to open a new album: Love Lessons from Children. By the way, the video is very Canadian: honest, caring, reserved, and to the heart and soul, with no propaganda nor political rhetoric.

Now about the picture - It spoke to me when I wanted to address the video. I assumed political license and changed 'we love fish' (so Portguese!) to 'we love here'. My thanks goes out to the people who live at #4 somewhere in SESIMBRA. "Love lessons from children" thanks you - OBRIGADA.

Hi dolly friends.

So much has happened since my last upload at the beginning of the month. My plans for moving were crushed due to "undisclosed" fees which made the apartment too costly to accept.

However, although that was a disappointment, I learned a few valuable life lessons in the last few weeks.

1. I learned that no matter how much you love someone, they won't be able to return your love if they don't love themselves first.

2. I've always been the type of person to "hide" my love from people, mostly because I've been scared my love wouldn't be returned or I might overwhelm the person. But, I learned that it's better to throw your love out in front of everyone to see, so anyone who wants it can take a piece and love you back.

3. What Satan means for evil, God will turn to good.

My faith was really stretched these last few weeks and I can honestly say I asked God "Why?" hundreds of times. I listened with my heart and I listened to my friends and family. I heard God tell me through everyone I love, "You deserve better." And, I guess I've always known that but I didn't like the idea of having to let go of loving someone just so I could be happier. Satan tried to make a situation horrible for me, but God stepped in and turned it all around, showing me all the love that surrounds me.

4. Even though I'm sad I had to end my love of someone so I could be happier, I know God has someone better planned for me to love. I have to stay in faith, let go of the things I can't control and give it all to God.

I hope this picture and my lessons will help you. Sometimes to be a happier person you have to let go of a love that is holding you back. It's definitely not easy (at all!) but sometimes it has to be done.

Afternoon.

This window is in the tv/living room. It has a nice sill at the window. On it are some of my most treasured and read books. Plus a hymnal :) I'm not Baptist but I did grow up singing hymns.
