"The new lounge design will be a space where students will be able to socialize, relax and perform other activities. This will be achieved by providing a multipurpose space with different types of seating selections such as high back booths and step seating. A cozy and inviting atmosphere will be created through the utilization of warm colors such as reds and oranges that will be combined with neutral colors. Also, reclaimed wood surfaces will be used to add a distinct aesthetic beauty and durability. Lastly, different fabric patterns and textures will emphasize our inviting and relaxing design."
"The space will be a cozy place where students can take a breather, as they would do in a park, either with friends or alone. The place will have a warm feel, achieved by the use of wood, the autumn palette, and warm lighting. For this student lounge design, the tree is very clearly represented in custom-made tree-like dividers and in the various wood veneers. The tree is also represented in the use of autumn colors, which relates to a relaxing park setting in a lovely season and also goes well with the school color of NYSID."

9. London Street (best viewed from Bedford Street).
With plenty of folklore influences, this mural is designed by Norwich University of the Arts graduate Ella goodwin.
Of her design she said: “Norfolk Folklore has it that cats w ere buried in walls to ward away spirits a long time ago (1700s), my design is inspired by this but takes on much more uplifting and whimsical viewpoint that they may also be the hourse themselves amongst a scaled up landscape of vibrant florals. The illustration would have a cutaway design to reveal the “inside” of the cat houses and so feel like the building itself was being revealed. I chose the Ticket Boo site for this becuse of the nature of the local shops such an Inanna’s festival, The Book Hive and Tickety Boo. All of which are independent shops filled with stories. This felt an appropriate spot for aa somewhat fantastical forkloric design”.
It’s acutally situated on London Street but is best viewed by far from Bedford Street!

3. Tesco/Evans
Here be Dragons! Beautiful and vibrant, our cheeky dragon is keeping an eye on you and the rest of Norwich! Designed by artist Malca Schotten, our friendly dragon was inspired by the last Snap Dragon in Norwich - based at the Castle. Dragons have been closely associated with the city since the Middle Ages - the wording on his scroll was uncovered at the Castle!
Should Twenty Thousand Dragons Rise,
I’d Fight Them All Before Your Eyes!

8. Tesco Metro.
Designed in her usual bold and colourful style, Julia Allum used a stack of books to create a Norwich landscape. Norwich landmarks pop out of the pages of an open book on the right, with the river wensum running through Bishops bridge and into a broads scene of the left.
Website: juliaallum.co.uk/mural-city-of-stories/
Julia says “I would like to thank artist Mark Harper for doing such a fantastic job of actually painting the mural. Not an enviable task with all the obstacles involved, drainpipes, grills, a canopy ….”
You can now see the finished mural on the back of Tesco Metro on Pottergate in Norwich.
