The L&N 4118, the CSX 2625, leads L412 north through Tunnel 2 on the Louisville & Nashville's original main line.

I'm feeling a little nostalgic because I haven't visited River City for a while. These are Louisville's lights from a trip I took last summer. The lights for most of the Second Street Bridge that crosses the Ohio River from Kentucky to Indiana were turned off because of renovation work. At night, the bridge would shut down to traffic.

I like how I can take a photo of Louisville's waterfront on one night and come back another to see a totally different scene. This is the Kentucky waterfront as seen from the Indiana side of the Ohio River. These days I do not leave Kentucky.

Montana Rail Link's Local 840-28 (Helena Local) slows, as the crew prepares to make a meet at Louisville.

If memory serves correct, the first west bound had engine issues and as a result the local got held in the siding until after dark.

My first significant road trip in over a year. Ten day and just under 3800 miles. One of my first stops was the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory.

With the cancellation of the Minor League Baseball season, I thought I'd post an image of a really cool minor league park.

Home of the Louisville Bats

Although I do not live in Louisville, or Kentucky for that matter - I did coach a youth team which we named after the Bats - and won a championship - many fond memories of that team - and getting a chance to see this stadium was pretty cool.

There also is a really good brew pub at the field - "Against The Grain", which of course I visited shortly after taking this picture - great brews there. Sadly they just announced they are closing indefinitely due to Covid.

Hauck's Handy Store, in Louisville's Schnitzelburg neighborhood, first opened in 1912, and closed in 2019. The business was purchased this year with plans to restore and retain many aspects of the interior and exterior, but turn the place into a restaurant.

When I drove by a couple of months ago, I saw that some of the vinyl siding had been removed, exposing a beautiful old hand-painted sign. I hope it will be preserved and left exposed.

Offhand, I can think of three other hand-painted signs I've photographed that were exposed after decades of hiding. One in Toledo, one in East Lansing, Michigan, and one in Detroit.
