Car crime on the rise, another burnt motor in the woods.

My Costco receipt, after I was forced to submit to their search before they allowed me to leave the store.

According to Costco's membership agreement, they not only "reserve the right" to check your receipt as you leave, they can check your purse or person whenever they damn well feel like while you're in their store. No other retail establishment is legally able to do that, so I'm not yet convinced that Costco can just because they said so.

Personal-care items—including toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other everyday hygiene products—sit behind locked Plexiglas cabinets at the Target flagship store in downtown Minneapolis. In recent years, large retailers across U.S. urban centers have expanded the use of secured cases for small, easily resold goods in response to rising shrink and merchandise loss. At this location, much of the oral-care section now requires staff assistance to access, reflecting a broader shift in store security strategies and retail operations in high-traffic downtown corridors.

We're getting the ISC West exacqVision demo units ready to go. If you're going to the show, come see us at booth #3127, Sands Convention Center, April 5-7, 2006. More info at www.exacq.com.

This screen shot shows the viewing of a Group, a user-definable way of organizing cameras into logical groups, a useful feature when you have dozens or hundreds of cameras in a system.

This screen shot is showing all IP cameras from Axis, Sony and IQeye.

When I saw this through the corner of my eye, I just had to take some pictures. The Ford Escape makes a nice little security vehicle.

The exacqVision iPad app

I found my old handcuff key from when I was doing loss prevention, I hated loss prevention so much and was so glad to get into security. My hand isn't actually dirty, its just the processing.

It's like a game of Destruction derby.

I've tied this one before as the Chinese Crown knot, but since it was one of the knots in the recently published 'Decorative Fusion Knots' by JD of Tying It All Together, I made this lanyard.

I think the cross pattern on one side of the knot goes well with the Swiss cross shield on the Victorinox Blue Alox Farmer pocket knife.

Milwaukee Wisconsin, 3-8-2015, 33 degrees outside. This HSS security car is a Toyota. The officer driving it explained it has only 16000 miles on it, and it handles quite nicely.

Another very nice looking security car.
