Cet arbre solitaire attirait constamment mon regard le long de l'autoroute A16, à quelques encablures du "no-man's land" entourant le site industriel Arcelor-Mittal. Il a fallu emprunter quelques chemins de traverse via Craywick pour l'atteindre, rue de l'Helle à Loon-Plage, sur un territoire isolé qui fait un peu office de bout du monde.
L'exceptionnelle pluviométrie de la fin 2012 a détrempé les champs du Nord de la France et retardé la récolte des betteraves. Mais les voilà désormais arrachées, ces belles plantes nourricières à la racine charnue, et regroupées en jolis tas en bordure de terrain.

Tijdens een zoektocht door de haven van Duinkerken vonden we tussen Gravelines en Loon-Plage bundel Colombier. Een bundel waar vooral kolen en ertsen hun spoorreis aanvatten. De bundel heeft meerdere prive aansluitingen. Hier zien we de aansluiting van aluminiumproducent "Aluminium Dunkerque" . Fret machine 60151 heeft net een bloktrein beladen met blokken aluminium opgehaald.
De locreeks BB 60000 werd gebouwd door Alstom in samenwerking met Vossloh. De machines zijn afgeleid van de Zwitserse Am841. De bouw werd door Alstom uitbesteed aan Vossloh Spanje te Valencia. Caterpillar leverde de dieselmotor. De locreeks heeft een vermogen van 1000Kw. De eerste machine kwam in dienst in 2006. De Franse spoorwegen bezitten 175 machines van deze reeks. Goederendochter Fret heeft 155 machines onder haar hoede. Infrastructuurbeheerder Infra heeft 20 gele kleurvarianten in dienst.
