I did a dance showing some of my problems that I face everyday. Life can be very hard and people can bring you down. I ended my video showing that if you just look within yourself and never give up you can be unstoppable.

In this piece, I want to tell a story of someone going through life in search of true happiness. They've been trying to be someone they're not and always making other people happy, while never feeling like who they truly are and meant to be. Eventually, they realize that if they look within, they find their own beautiful qualities that make them unique... even glorious and magnificent. That is when true happiness is found and nothing else matters. I chose this song because I felt like my choreography could really bring the lyrics to life.

This is a photo of my brother looking at the wall at the Korean War Memorial. On the wall, you see markings of soldiers from the Korean War. But if you look closer, you can also see my brother's reflection, and you can also see soldiers reflecting off the wall that are also part of the memorial. If you think hard, you can also see in your mind, the soldiers stories of fighting to save our country. There are so many stories within the wall. I am grateful for all the soldiers who have died to save our wonderful country.

This project shows that no matter what we face everyday we need to look within ourselves so we can overcome our giants. Over a year in the making, I designed and built the sets with my father and learned a lot about animation through trial and error. Also some new editing skills. I talked my uncle into being the narrator. We made a great memory together as I recorded him. Autism has been my giant for twelve years of school and I'm glad to share my story with everyone, so others can "look within" and have a "happily ever after!"

The music rises and sets like the sun. The sun makes my day brighter and inspires me to keep trying. The music speeds up and slows down like my emotions, going from happy to sad, excited to depressed. Sometimes I feel like a turtle. Sometimes I feel like a race car. The music gets louder at times, like I get sometimes when I'm angry. The music gets softer, like I get when I am quiet and calm.

In honor of this years theme I have searched not only within myself but also within my family history and within places I love to find jazz. I discovered jazz around one year ago and quickly realized that it coincides perfectly with tap dance. Knowing both my grandpas love for jazz, I decided to choreograph a tap piece to one of my grandpas' favorite jazz songs to pay tribute and respect to him (Mann De Carnival/Black Orpheus) I also performed my piece in the special places that I dance, listen, play and experience tap dance and jazz.

This piece is about forging your own path apart from what people want from you. Looking within is self discovery, and that's what this piece is - a poem about defying expectations and doing what you choose.

I look within when I have a project and I'm like "I give up" and then I'm like "Hmm, I should not give up" and I try to motivate myself and I do it. I look within when I feel like "I give up" and then I say "Try again."

I feel very strongly about the inhuman way in which chickens are treated in the food industry. Their plight is horrendous and truly heartbreaking. My story is an effort to have us look within ourselves and feel their pain and make the much needed change.

When I dance I can let out all of my energy and feelings! The music soothes my mind and helps me relax. I am determined to do my best and let out my inner me! Because being myself is the most important at any time!

When I do this dance it inspires me to look within my heart to follow my dreams. We all have different dreams and sometimes they can be scary. We should not let that stop us, but work really hard to follow our dreams and encourage others to follow theirs.

My work relates to the theme because in my song the people I'm talking to are struggling with depression and I'm telling those people that they're ok and they will get through it if they look within the darkness of themselves. And if you keep that light with them so that nothing or no one can hurt them. And that they will grow to love themselves and find peace within their self.

The piece that I composed is what I go through. At school, I'm like the beginning: plain, flat, colorless and quiet. But if you look closely, you can see the real me waiting to jump out, full of excitement, humor and joy.

With this picture I'm trying to show another version of myself. In the back is me looking at myself thinking about my actions, looking within. In the front is me acting without thinking.

This song and dance is looking within who I am while all the girls are judging me. I want to be free to express myself dancing to this song. Even though I can be a crazy dancer, who cares? Nobody can judge me dancing because I can be myself and nobody will be judging me. I want to dance like nobody's watching. (Even though you will be watching me dance.) I hope my dance expresses you like it expresses me.

I choreographed a dance to "I Found" by Amber Run. I chose this song because throughout my years of dancing, I was able to find an outlet for my anxiety. Dancing has allowed me to look within myself and feel freely without reservation.

My film relates to the theme "Look within" because it is about a girl who feels like her way of becoming her full potential is by defeating her greatest enemy: Herself. She must look within to find the strength and courage to stand against her own temptations and depressing thoughts. The plot follows a girl who is "drowning" in her own self doubt, and she is figuratively lost in an endless maze of trees. She must face the water, which represents her fear. To complete her quest, she turns the ugly, drowning part of the ocean into a beautiful mermaid.

When composing a piece of music, it can often be difficult to express all of one's ideas. Quasi Fantasia not only reaches within the inner depths of such ideas, but it explores my emotions without being restricted to one sentiment as it progresses from frustration to peace and tranquility. Being able to combine a variety of themes into a piece of music allows a composer to truly discover their unique style and passion for art.

Look within to me means finding strength inside you which as a 10 year old is hard. I have learned that I can lose friends but it doesn't mean that something is wrong with me. I learned that its part of growing up. This song is about coming out of that loneliness to find that the sun will rise as you walk.

Gorilla was one of the first characters I animated for a previous PTA film contest. I was very excited to bring him back as a main character. In this animation, Gorilla looks within a transparent block of ice to get a carrot. While Gorilla even calls a friend for help, he is not thinking about the ice itself or how to solve the problem creatively. This animation reminds us to look at difficult problems from another angle. I took special care while editing with Adobe Premiere to make the musical beats synchronized with the animation.

Even though I don’t like rain, I do love when it rains because the rain makes the flowers grow. Love can grow within your heart like flowers grow. Flowers need raindrops and everyone needs love. To have raindrops hit your head, means that you can feel the love that someone is giving to you, like how raindrops fall on flowers. When I look within myself, I see the love everywhere that I always have with me for my mommy and daddy. Just like there will always be flowers growing outside because of the rain.

I chose "She Used to Be Mine" to perfectly accompany my dance, its words, tone and contrasts. The singer talks about herself, looking within, realizing, admitting, she's "good" but "lies". I purposefully staged my contrasting choreography on stairs and went side to side. I started and ended my dance in the same place to show this was self-exploration, life realization. And as the song says all these varied ingredients make for "a beautiful pie." I served up my movements and a beautiful piece. I hope it inspires people to accept all the varied parts of their whole.

Let's say you are shopping at the supermarket and you see a man. By his appearance, you judge what the man is like. What you think of him could be true, but what if it's not? What if he is the exact opposite of what you infer? You wouldn't know until you looked within him. You wouldn't know until you got to know him and see what he is actually like. However, it's not a man in the supermarket you will be looking within. In this poem you will look within me.

Last year I bumped my head and got a concussion. My forehead swelled up really big and I had a lot of bruising around my eyes. I was afraid to let other people see me. I thought they would laugh and point at me. I made this dance up and chose "Speechless" because it reminded me of how I had to be strong and fearless after my accident. I had to "Look Within" myself and tell myself that it doesn't matter how I look on the outside. I am still me know matter what happens to me.

My movie is about a bird who doesn't know what he can do to to enjoy the world. The bird asks different animals what he can do there. The animals give him advice, but he can't do anything the animals tell him to do. After talking with the boy, the bird realized, everyone is special in their own way, and that they had to find their strength. My story fits with the theme because it shows that if you look within yourself, you will feel good about what you can do, instead of feeling bad about what you can't do.

I love nature. I like to walk around my neighborhood. And when I do, I see different animals and landscapes. Whenever I close my eyes, mu mind wanders in the neighborhood. I love poetry. My favorite poetry is by Emily Dickinson.

When I look within I see my desire to make the most of my life. I want to run, jump, move, and find joy in all that I do. One of my desires is to avoid feeling "Numb" or like I missed out on everything that life has to offer. In order to not feel "Numb" I must look within and discover myself by not wasting the moments, space and opportunities right in front of me.

My film, Stories From Within, is a creative documentary that tells the true stories of people who had to overcome obstacles by looking within themselves. I recreated their stories in flashbacks, using a color change, to give the scenes an older look. I shot the scenes in my film using an iPhone and a tripod. I played on the piano two of the music pieces in the film. I edited my film on iMovie. It took three weeks to complete this film.

My poetry gives a message that there are seeds of love and kindness within all living things in this world. Animals can't speak but they share love and kindness just like humans and that's why they are not very different from us. Humans have seeds of love and kindness within their hearts. We should always remember to sprinkle these seeds everywhere in the world to make it a better place. If we promise ourselves to do our best, we can wipe away sadness and keep sprinkling the seeds of love and kindness everywhere.

Looking within a soldier's mind brings back painful memories of those who fought for our country in WWII and the struggles they overcame to gain victory. The trauma of war breaks the hearts of everyone, in the home and in the front lines. This dance looks back at the chain of events in the war and represents the feelings and emotions a soldier had during each phase of the fight! Though the memories bring back emotions that are difficult to deal with, the soldier learns to release the tension in his heart and let go of the painful past.

The duet is about two people wrapped up in each other; they only want to do what their partner does. Throughout the dance they begin to realize that they must be their own person and at the end they go their separate ways. This relates because while they dance they find ways to do their own thing. They had to look within to find themselves.

The Road to Dream is a fast paced song that shows the path to achieving your dreams. When it gets very quick, dark and intense, it represents certain obstacles but it is soft and mellow indicates progress. The Road to Dreams also illustrated the idea that when you reach ones dream, you move on to the next one.

My piece is about all the personalities that someone has and how they all make that person. The dancers show that they are all different, but they all work together in the end.
