Der Versuch des Einfangens. Rosaroter Schäfchen.

Or pink dreams? Or huge cotton balls? Or just a look through the pink glasses? Actually it is simply the view in the sky – again from my garden – and that is not an effort, but very easy ;-)

Kuschelwolken. Ein Versprechen?

This crow seems to be a little undecided. Perhaps also skeptical whether the clouds are really as soft as their sight promises. Perhaps also skeptical whether the pink promise will dissolve in the air when touched – as soap bubbles usually do?

Look at the sky when you walk through life.....

The sky, a perfect empty canvas, offers clouds nonetheless....
They shift and drift and beg interpretation...
Such is the nature of art.

The sun coming up felt too good to stay inside under blankets for. Spring is coming and I love seeing the tiny little signs of it. I’ll keep telling myself the cold in the morning is invigorating.
I did manage to grab my Nikon to go out and snap some sunset photos last night before it went dark. A beautiful soft sunset at the end of a busy day.
Summer 2019 brought me one of the most incredible cloud formations over my old home. My partner watches me set up the shot as what looks like the lower half of a face hangs above our house.

Between the storms and the changing temperatures I’ve been awe struck and looking up at the sky all day. While I wish I had my camera on me while we were out, my iPhone did ok on this one. I’ve got to get into the habit of carrying my actual camera with me.
As I was sat here editing those last batch of photos the sky got my attention with a really lovely (and cooler than it’s been in 4 or 5 days) sunset. This is the calmest I’ve felt in so long.
While sitting at my desk in my home office this morning I was suddenly awash in a pink glow from outside. I don’t have quite the same view as I did at the last home I owned, but if I can talk myself into putting on some shoes and climbing the hill a bit I can get some really beautiful sky pictures. It’s a perfect excuse to force myself to keep picking up my Nikon D5600 over using my iPhone 12 Maximum Pro (or whatever nonsense name this one had). Now I just have to remember to grab my monopod/tripod to get the best focus! Baby steps, I suppose.
Some big beautiful dynamic clouds just as I was finishing out work today. The storm followed not long after, but it already looks like it’s clearing up for a nice sunset.

Went up to the alley to snap some Big Dark Cloud pictures while the sun was still shining bright. While it HAS rained, the sun is still shining brightly. Oh and there was just a crack of thunder so loud it made me yelp. I love summer time so much.
I asked Dracula to come walk outside with me early this evening to capture some big expressive clouds. A little post processing to make them feel dreamy.

The "Sister Bridges" in downtown Pittsburgh along the Allegheny River. The photo was taken from the roof of the David L Lawrence Convention Center during what was one of my all time favorite events, Replay FX. This was taken after a long day of playing more pinball than I could even fathom, eating some great tacos, and preparing for an evening of video game related music and dancing.
Again, another entry into the "I Wish I Had Brought My DSLR" log.

It feels like something my grandfather would have done, but I’ve been really enjoying taking time to photograph outside in our neighborhood to catalogue weather changes and the foliage. This was the view to the west this afternoon.

When I woke up this morning I had an urge to go for a ride. We got in the car and drove out into West Virginia and Ohio for some thrifting, sight seeing, photo trip planning, and pizza. One of my favorite spots is here in Weirton, WV at the Veterans Memorial Bridge. Driving across it and getting these photos from the car is the best I can do as this bridge doesn’t have a pedestrian walkway that I’ve seen. This is the successor of the Fort Steuben Bridge connecting Steubenville, Ohio and Weirton, WV. I love exploring small towns and looking at all their shapes and textures and colors.

Standing in the alley again today, this time for those big soft fluffy clouds. (While I sit here and keep an eye on the sky as the sun sets.) Talking to Dracula, as he always accompanies me when I go out to snap some photo, and telling him about how looking up is my favorite thing to do. Followed closely by looking down. There is always something interesting or just plain beautiful to see. If it didn’t eventually result in an ache in the neck, I’d probably never stop staring up in the air. ALSO, I almost never do this but these are straight out of camera. Half the fun of photography for me most of the time is the creative post processing. Through a bunch of edits, I couldn’t come up with anything even close to as beautiful as these shots look SOOC.
