UP SD40N 1914 leads CP G41 east onto the IHB in Franklin Park, IL.These baby winged SD40Ns look stunning in good light, UP really did a great job on them!
Emperor Goose, San Luis Obispo County, California. Typically found in Alaska and Siberia where they breed and overwinter, Emperor Geese are very rare in California. A pair of these (presumably these same two—adjacent photos for photos of both) was seen for one day about two months ago, and despite looking, were not found again until this week. They have been more accomodating to birders and photographers this week.
Have you ever gone inside of a building and never look up? I learned that a lot of the architecture art is found on the ceiling of the building. Churches, castles, and museums are all classic examples of where this can be seen.
This image is of the Milwaukee Art Museum in Wisconsin. Walking in, paying the entry fee, and looking up......right away your mouth drops open in awe.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: The lockers pretty much sum up why my sister and I wanted this school. They really open, they look realistic yet colorful....everything you could want. This originally came with name stickers for the Generation Girls. But I got my school secondhand in the early 2000s. There were a few pieces of the name labels left, but most were gone or partially torn. So they eventually were all peeled off. That was fine with us, since Colleen and I rarely played with the Generation Girls in the school. Instead we had our usual cast of favorite dolls, which rotated around depending on the time frame. There would be a designated locker for School Photographer Becky, Pet Pals Skipper, 2001 Sparkling Jasmine...even Kid Kore Katie. It's interesting because Katie was eight....so I'm not sure why she'd have a high school locker. I even made little text books out of construction paper and gel pens for each of the dolls. I would do different fonts, copying names from my own textbooks. Sometimes I'd doodle on the covers, to make it look like the dolls got bored in class. The slide out walls also added some realism. It was a bummer we didn't get any of the furniture that originally came with this set. But we had so many dolls in play, that we couldn't have possibly fit them at the flimsy cafeteria table. So we just sat the dolls on the floor and pretended there was a table. Colleen and I always used our imaginations to fill in the missing set pieces or even characters we didn't have. The newspaper room was also a fun set to utilize. I really liked the copy machine...but I was bummed it wasn't three dimensional. The walls are vinyl which can be retracted into the school. This makes everything super compact and easy to store. However, when you store it for a while and then roll out the walls, they stay curled. So I always have to use putty to stick under the metal bases. This keeps the walls taught and straight. This wasn't so much an issue when I was a kid, because the school was set up ALL the time.

This has a cool perspective switch. It may look like the bottom of the photo is flat, but this is actually looking down the mountain.

These flowers were right next to the ones I used for the first abstract photo. The flowers were very similar, although the middles looked different. From far away, this flower looked white with a few accented pastel colors. A closeup along with color boosting revealed the beauty of the colors in this flower.

You know....the bride processing is a new game for me sooo...I hope you dont look away when you see what I did to this poor girl...she is beautiful...despight my work here...
I was told recently that if you think you're taking a great shot, when you've got it look behind you. I was taking rather an ordinary shot really and when I turned round there was this beautiful stone farmhouse billowing clouds of smoke out the chimney, framed by gorgeous trees with shafts of sunlight coming down through the branches. It was SO much more beautiful than I've managed to capture here - a really heart-tugging idyllic rural scene. I looked and snapped for ages.
I'm not sure if I prefer to see the height of the trees, or the farmyard to the side giving it more context. You certainly get the billowing smoke better in the landscape one.
Camera used: Zenit 35F (not an SLR like most Zenits, but a point-and-shoot camera from the 80s)
