I have no idea why Molly was looking at me this way. I just thought it was cute so I took the photo.

Looking a bit serious in this one, think its because the camera was playing up and I didn't know if the timer was on two shots or not.

Bit disappoint yet happy too because this jacket is now too big (yay) but I like it so I am slightly miffed :-(

Oh well I could always get it altered.

This outfit has made me remember that this look actually works for me and that I should wear clothes like this more often.

I will be boring you with this set but I will break it up a little and post some other pics in between.

Colorful dessert. Made of sweetened green bean paste, painted and coated with agar agar. It was not an job to adjust color and light to match the original colors.

Makes this piece of driftwood look very large.

J'ai toute son attention.

If you are extremely short (around 20cm), you might walk under the spare bed in my home and look up and see the springs across the frame of this 100+ year old bed. Since I'm taller, I placed my camera upright on the floor and had just enough space to focus manually using my smartphone camera app as the viewfinder. I don't have a macro ring light, so this is a 30 second exposure. Not recommended for the squeamish.

Lens: Rokinon (Samyang) 7.5 mm f3.5 fisheye, used at f5.6

Fisheye effects were minimized by using the horizontal and vertical levels in the camera, placing the horizon in the middle then cropping the uninteresting foreground.

As winter has a major grip on Michigan, I went back in my files to a more colorful time. Point Betsie is always popular when the lilacs come into bloom.

dear Fairy God aunties & uncles,

sweet baby solstice will be flying any day now!  maybe today :))    later note: SHE DID FLY TODAY!!!

here she is practicing :) ~ as her wonderful mama teaches her from the bough above *

when you walk to the edge of all the light you have

and you take the first step into the darkness of the unknown

you must believe that one of the two things will happen..

there will be something solid for you to stand upon

or you will be taught to fly!

Looking west at Q Tower, Hyndman, PA on a fine November day. Q protected the crossovers and helper terminal at the bottom of the east slope of Sand Patch grade. This was taken shortly before Chessie era siding was added to the tower, drastically changing its look for the remainder of its days.

Little did I know it on this day, but Q Tower and I had a date with destiny. Seventeen years later I'd be working as the engineer on a "Hyndman Helper" (by that time, the helpers were no longer based in Hyndman and had a home terminal of Cumberland, but the jobs were still universally referred to as Hyndman Helpers) and have the honor of being the last movement by the tower on the night that it closed. We went by light eastbound and the operator OS'd us, turned out the lights, locked the door and left for the last time. I bet my eight year old self would have been mighty impressed by that.

I hope the view is ok.

Looking up in Canary Wharf!

"Look Up"

If you look up you will see

The place where I wait for you

There's no more pain

No more misery.

I remember you crying

I remember your tears

And then I saw the Angels

They calmed all of my fears.

I know that you loved me

I know that you cared

But now it's time to move on

There's another life to share.

I'm sure we'll be together

I know we'll meet again

For now

Know that I am safe

I am loved

I am full of life again.
