I saw this Eurasian whimbrel (numenius phaeopus) take a couple of ghost crabs off the sand. The bird moved very slowly along the beach, occasionally being rewarded for its patience and stealth. Photographed near Belle Mare, in Mauritius.

Bodnant Garden is a National Trust property near Tal-y-Cafn, Conwy, Wales, overlooking the Conwy Valley towards the Carneddau mountains. Founded in 1874 and developed by five generations of one family, it was given to the National Trust in 1949.

I'm trying to remember to catch the light by looking up more often. In doing so, I caught some morning light behind two rather large oak leaves which pleased my eye. I hope you don't get sick of viewing fall leaves, because I have a "thing" for them!

Cormoran des étangs de Meudon
Le grand cormoran est un grand oiseau que l'on peut trouver en bord de mer mais également en eaux douces. Ses ailes ont un aspect écailleux. Il possède un bec assez grand avec une gorge blanche.
The great cormorant is a large bird that can be found by the sea but also in fresh water. Its wings have a scaly appearance. It has a fairly large beak with a white throat.
