It had been a rainy night and when I ventured out of my tent early the next morning I quickly noticed that things were still - finally a calm Patagonian morning.
I had a number of shots that needed these very conditions but we would shortly be leaving for Argentina so time was against me and I had to prioritise.
This particular location was one I had passed a few times now and every time I did it had tempted me to try and find a way to make it work. But it was tough.
Just out of this frame is another tree to the left so too far back and the scene looked cluttered and the subject was lost. Too close and the the old ladder became overwhelmed by the main tree and the scene looked too tight.
It could work though. I knew it could work because I had seen great photographers make it work.
What i needed more than anything though was for the wind to disappear. The scene needed a longer exposure to smoothen out the water and provide a soothing compliment to what was otherwise a busy photo.
So, with the exploring done - this was the morning.
In the end I think it came together, the comp felt right and the wind was calm enough that I could shoot the water and keep the leaves sharp.
四年前來這裡沒能拍好這個角度，四年後我又來補考，日子過得很快，曾經糾結的人事物，隨時間慢慢就淡忘。但來到同樣的地方，看到同樣的風景時，回憶又湧上，儘管感嘆世事無常，但曾經珍惜過，也就無悔過去的決定。

The Monastery of Panagia Dovra is located 5.5 km northwest of the center of Veria on the slopes of the Vermio Mountains and belongs to the Holy Metropolis of Veria, Naoussa and Campania. Situated in a wooded area with panoramic views over the plain of Macedonia.
Reconstruction of a sacred temple dedicated to St. Luke, Archbishop of Simferopol, has recently begun.
A white light so beautiful that detaches everything, how strong and domineering, comes in spiteful to disturb the shot.

Serpent blade, black fibers with a zoom pull for each and orange filter.
I love how this one looks like the beginning of some huge deep space event.
Off to bed to attempt a 3.30 wake up for some woodland goodness. We'll see :)

One of my sister-in-laws passed away yesterday. This is the first time I feel death is so close to me. She has been suffering from illness for more than 10 years. Hope she is free from pain and gets peace now.
昨日面臨夫家姊姊過世，見到高齡婆婆痛失愛女，甚是悲痛！姊姊長年受病魔折磨，慶幸她已解脫，無病無痛，一切祥和！
