Einsamer Schwan im Burggraben der Burg Linn in Krefeld
Lonely swan in the moat of Burg Linn in Krefeld
The Badlands of South Dakota seem to go on forever. Very little water and not much vegetation, a place you definitely don't want to get lost in.
"Nothing happens when you sit at home. I always make it a point to carry a camera with me at all times...I just shoot at what interests me at that moment.."
Mit dem Flügelschlag der Möwe
Sie reckt den Schnabel in den Wind,
zählt nicht die Wellen, nicht die Schäume,
sie träumt entrückt nur ihre Träume
nur so, wie sie halt sind.
Keine Sehnsucht, kein Verlangen,
steht nur da auf einem Pfahl,
fühlt kein Hadern und kein Bangen,
wartet auf das nächste Mahl.
Schwimmt vorbei ein kleiner Fisch,
hebt sie die Flügel, saust darnieder,
die Möwe gibt sich räuberisch,
singt nach dem Mahle ihre Lieder.
Gern wär ich wie die Möwe frei,
frei von Bedenken, frei von Sorgen,
mein Flügelschlag trägt mich herbei,
zu dir und bis zum nächsten Morgen.

I was inspired by the record sleeve of a 1962 vinyl recording by the Modern Jazz Quartet : “ Lonely Woman”.
The music sets the right mood for this image, which lacks something without it

“Language... has created the word "loneliness" to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word "solitude" to express the glory of being alone.”
Paul Tillich (German born American Theologian and Philosopher, whose discussions of God and faith illuminated and bound together the realms of traditional Christianity and modern culture. 1886-1965)
Another dawn shot of Gog and Magog, two dramatic limestone sea stacks along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia.
Gog and Magog are the only two of the Twelve Apostles are Gog and Magog that visitors can get close to, via the Gibson Steps. All the others have to be viewed from the 70m clifftops.
