Lake Oeschinen is a Unesco World Heritage Site and considered by many to be the most beautiful mountain lake in the Alps. It lies above Kandersteg and is an intact mountain lake fed by the glacial streams of the three-thousand-metre peaks Blüemlisalp, Oeschinenhorn, Fründenhorn and Doldenhorn. Unfortunately, I chose one of the hottest days to hike in this area. The 32 degrees celsius made me long to jump into this deep blue, but very freezing lake all the way up and back down. Let me tell you, there’s nothing better than to end a strenuous hike with a refreshing swim in a mountain lake. :-)

Lonelyness

Just before dawn at the Lonely Tree on Llyn Padarn, Llanberis.

This tree sits on the edge of the Big Meadows in the Shenandoah National Park. It didn't have a brilliant color to it, but I still liked the shape and rusty brown color.
