What I love & makes me so proud about this photograph is the beautiful inclusivity & diverse multiculturalism all at the bottom of my street. A working class South East London street, an Irish pub & beautiful children.
Nothing is perfect & there is still a very long way to go but if a little corner of SE18 can show it & embrace it there is hope & positivity for the future.

The Spaniards Inn is a historic pub on Spaniards Road between Hampstead and Highgate in London, England. It lies on the edge of Hampstead Heath near Kenwood House. It is a Grade II listed building, dating back to the 17th century.

At first I assumed this guy was just cleaning the sign, but now I think he's actually tidying up the freshly applied gold leaf.
Dropped a clanger on this one. I had this image with pretty much all the noise removed. Posted the wrong one. Thats the problem with temporary glasses after cataract operation. Please overlook. Thanks :-))

Famously the pub where gangster Ronnie Kray shot and killed gangland rival George Cornell in 1966.
Waiting for the doors to open at The Old Mill pub, Old Mill road, Plumstead, South East London.
As a kid I was intrigued why men used to wait outside their favourite pub anticipating for the rattle of the lock & a taste of their favourite tipple.
Of course back in the 80's there was two opening times as pubs used to close after lunch trade & then open again for evening business, so there was always a queue of keen customers waiting for opening time.

Highbury Barn, Islington
Not really a pub anymore, but a gentleman's club, as they call them. Closed now in any case (see comment), and now looking quite attractive as the Tea House Theatre.
