This was home (part of the time) when I was younger vacationing in the upper northwoods. My mom used to sit by the further window, and crochet and sew.

A shot I took today with my new toy on my way home from work. Yesterday I bought a Tokina AT-X 124 AF PRO DX lens, 12-24 mm f/4. It wasn't an easy decision because I prefer genuine parts. But after lots and lots of reading tests and field reports of other users I decided to buy this one. It feels solid and professional. The difference in optical quality compared to the Nikon 12-24 lens seems to be marginal and will only be visible if you shoot test charts as far as I can believe the reports of others. And that doesn't justifies to pay more than twice as much as for the Tokina. For me it has the best cost-performance ratio. By now I'm really satisfied although I didn't take a lot of pictures yet. More to come...

Well, it's a log covered in snow but the Crimbo season is well and truly over now for another 50 odd weeks.
