Being from Humboldt, I found it difficult maintaining my composure at certain points when talking about my design. Communicating was sometimes overwhelming because it was from my hometown — and it was a very emotional time for a lot of people that grew up in Humboldt when the bus crash happened. #LoganBouletEffect #GreenShirtDay #HumboldtStrong

A major highlight was listening to Toby and Bernadine share stories about their son Logan Boulet. He seemed like an amazing young man with an interesting range of skills, strengths, and passions. Logan Boulet was truly more than just a hockey player. #LoganBouletEffect #GreenShirtDay #HumboldtStrong

My wife took some pics of me with the new logo I designed for Green Shirt Day.

Green Shirt Day, marked on April 7 every year, honours the victims and families of the 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash, which killed 16 people, including 21-year-old defenceman Logan Boulet.

Logan, who had previously shared his wishes to donate, saved six people with his organ and tissue donations on April 7, 2018. Over the following weeks, he also inspired nearly 150,000 Canadians to register their own donation decision - known as the Logan Boulet Effect. #LoganBouletEffect #GreenShirtDay #HumboldtStrong

I'm inspired by the love and courage of this beautiful couple. Bernadine & Toby Boulet continue to honour their son Logan Boulet's legacy with Green Shirt Day.

Logan Boulet’s family officially unveiled the winner of a national T-shirt design competition – and encouraged Canadians to plan their own Green Shirt Day organ and tissue donation awareness events.

The 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash opened a lot of

memories for me. I grew up in Humboldt, Saskatchewan — and I’m a HUGE hockey fan. And the Humboldt Broncos were THE superstars of my hometown. I’m a registered organ donor and I feel Logan Boulet’s story is a powerful legacy for our

communities and our country.

While researching, I saw a dynamic image of Logan taking a slapshot. My design was also inspired by the silhouettes of

Terry Fox that are often used on T-Shirts for the Terry Fox Run. Terry Fox was an elite athlete and he selflessly gave for the

benefit of others in raising awareness and money for cancer

research. I see parallels with Logan Boulet’s selfless and

unexpected contributions in raising awareness for organ &

tissue donations.

Reverence. Honour. Courage. Compassion.

This simple, iconic image of Logan Boulet with his number “27” captures the transformative energy of the “Logan Boulet Effect” — and it also honours the Broncos’ players & staff

from the tragic bus crash. Their names, stories will always

be remembered for the beauty, love & joy they gave to

the game of hockey, their families, the spirit of sport,

and my hometown of Humboldt.
