I visit less houses lately, and when I paid a visit to this house I knew why. Although the entry was very easy, I stepped into a house that gave me the feeling that the residents were out shopping and could come back any moment.
You step into someone's territory, like stepping into someone's comfort zone. No decay besides in the bedroom, so has not been abandoned for long. It's too personal for me and this visit did not take long.
And again, there is probably a sad story that made this house being abandoned with all stuff left inside. And to be honest: I don't wanna know....

The blue structure is a toilet and an attached shower. Parts of the kitchen-island, the bathtub, the bed, nearly everthing but the Toilet is designed to be easy movable (i.e. on wheels). We intensified the atmosphere with some auxiliary floodlights. Enjoy it and do me a favor and watch this in large for the details.
I've gotten a lot of questions about the furniture I used for this set! I bought most of it on Ebay and then spray painted the pieces before assembly!
I made the bed and couches with foam board and sample materiel that I bought from Joanne's Fabric!
Sleeping loft located on a mezzanine level overlooks the two story living room space. Large enough for queen size bed, 6-drawer dresser, and end tables as well as a custom made headboard and lights. Roller blind curtains provide a privacy shade. The space also offers ample storage. This set up also offers bedroom privacy not normally seen in studios.
Bishan Loft is a executive condominium located in the heart of Bishan. It consists of two 35 storeys high-rise towers dwarfing the surrounding HDB flats.
Open shelves show off unique glasses and mugs and make for easy access to plates and dishes. Full cabinets would take too much room here.

Der Speicher am Mittellandkanal in Bad Essen wurde im Jahr 1938 erbaut und ca. 1940 fertiggestellt. Entsprechend steht er dort seit 80 Jahren und bildet eine weithin sichtbare Landmarke im Wittlager Land und besonders in der heutigen Gemeinde Bad Essen. Er lag schon vor 80 Jahren verkehrsgünstig am Mittellandkanal, an der Bahnstrecke zwischen Preußisch Oldendorf und Bohmte sowie an der „Fernstraße“ zwischen Osnabrück und Minden, die bis heute Bestand und Bedeutung haben.
Das Jahr 1938 ist nicht zufällig das Baujahr des Speichers, bereitete das NS-Regime schon seit Jahren eine von ihm gewollte Neuordnung Europas im Zuge eines europaweiten Krieges vor, der im Zweiten Weltkrieg mündete und unsere Geschichte bis heute maßgeblich beeinflusst hat. Dabei galt es, die Versorgung der Bevölkerung mit Grundnahrungsmitteln „bombensicher“ sicher zu stellen.
Erinnerungen an den Speicher:
„Der 10 Stockwerke hohe Speicher wurde 1938 von Ludwig Hardach gebaut. Wieviel Staatlicher Rückhalt dahinter steckte, kann ich nicht sagen.“

„Mein Mann erzählte, dass beim Umschwung 1945 die Engländer den Speicher sprengen wollen. Da habe sich der Erbauer Hardach auf die Rampe gesetzt und sich strikt geweigert, den Platz u verlassen. „ Nur über meine Leiche!“, habe er kundgetan, und die Soldaten, die ihn wegtragen wollten, seinerseits bedroht. Der Erbauer hat derzeit sein Leben riskiert, um den einmaligen Bau zu erhalten.
Mein späterer Mann hat damals mit dem Fahrrad in 20 l-Kannen Reis aus dem Speicher geholt, von dem seine Mutter täglich im großen Kessel Milchreis kochte und mit gekochten Eiern an Männer verteilte, die sich im Osten von der Wehrmacht abgesetzt hatten, um zu Fuß im Schutz der Wälder nach Haus zukommen. Ihre Uniformen hatten sie ausgezogen, es gab genug private Kleidung, deren Besitzer im Krieg ihr Leben ließen, und die hiesigen Leute waren hilfsbereit. Da ist so mancher Soldat dem sinnlosen Kampf entflohen, um zu Fuß ins Ruhrgebiet zu gelangen, unter anderem mit Hilfe aus dem Speicher.“ (nach: „Lebenswege durch die Heimat und 100 Jahre Geschichte“ von Elly Wübbeler)
