An impressive building considering Kitchener isn't a particularly large city. It was renovated into lofts about a decade ago.

The girls have a little workout in the loft before bedtime.

We're converting a 1940's church into a home; initially, it was a big, empty box inside. This is the southeast corner of the room, what you see here is just about 1/4 of the total space in the main building. Here, I built a platform which has two rooms underneath it, nearest to the camera will be a library, and at the back is an office.

This picture was taken within a minute after I got the bed assembled and threw some comforters on it; you can see that our male cat, Otis, wasted zero time in getting on there and staking his claim. At the right rear, in the chair, those eyes belong to the other cat, Asia.

The church's interior ceiling height is about 14 feet, so I used 9' BCI as the floor joists and we have about 6 1/2 foot ceilings. I'm 5'11" and Deb is about 5'8, so it works out OK. In fact, we got a bonus in the construction of the library, we were able to create bookshelves in the ceiling by attaching 1"x12" planks to the bottoms of the joists, which made for perfect paperback bookshelves in the amount of about 132 linear feet (12, 11' shelves.)

Those partially completed stairs you see in the foreground were, so far, the most difficult part of the project; stairs are tricky darned things. They're done now as far as the surface goes. The outside wall will wait upon further inspiration.

The before, a blank canvas.

my bedroom, its a loft apartment which explains how weird it is lol. My dad made the platform bed for me.

this loft was designed by ilyasse alij he's an interior designer -

when i was beginig to design this home i want to created a personal home that exudes opulence confort and style in every turn and i want a wow factor the moment the people walk through the door i think that what make a luxury home so great is paying attention to the detail. here in the foyer you'll notice that detail from the marble porcelain floor all the way up. detail like that establish the glamours tones that i wanted throughtout the home.

" An economic downturn in the 1980s left many downtown office and warehouse buildings vacant. Twenty years later, developers are snatching up these buildings to create residential living space, as most of these older office buildings are no longer suitable for modern offices. Over 30 historic buildings in downtown (and the immediate vicinity) have been or are being converted to apartments, lofts, and condominiums. These buildings offer residents not only convenient downtown living, but also a part in preserving Dallas' history and character."

Mitchell Loft is one of them.

In 1999, Ron Wommack turned once was old cotton gin to 79 units loft with a courtyard original structure kept and exposed.

He reused materials salvaged from old buildings as much as possible for the remodeling.

My fav part is this courtyard giving a special character to this place but also place for art or socialize in many occasions.

The remodeling won a Preservation Dallas Achievement Award in 2000.

Most of this outfit is from Ann Taylor Loft. I lovet Loft for professional fun outfits. The Loft skirt was from Gabriel Brothers (aka TJ Maxx meets Goodwill). I am really excited for warmer weather...I am over always wearing tights!

Existing Loft Space

My day time gig is a real estate agent and so I'll get access to lofts that I think my clients would be interested in and then take photos to send to the client if they're not present. I've probably got over 100 different lofts in my portfolio and I plan to share some of those unique spaces over the coming weeks and months.

This shot was taken with my older Canon 600D before my 80D and awesome Sigma 10-20mm. It's not the crispest shot but I'm pretty happy with it. This particular loft is a tri-level located in a historical building in Downtown Dallas, and it comprises floors 18-20. Definitely a top 5 loft of mine in Dallas. I think overall it's around 2800sf.

The blue structure is a toilet and an attached shower. Parts of the kitchen-island, the bathtub, the bed, nearly everthing but the Toilet is designed to be easy movable (i.e. on wheels). We intensified the atmosphere with some auxiliary floodlights. Enjoy it and do me a favor and watch this in large for the details.

For the next 7 months I am living in a loft space in a historic factory in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The building is a former munitions factory, built in the mid 1800s.

More of my first real estate photos, would love some feedback.
