It works on an inclined plane to carry boats in individual cradles over a change of height of about 60 feet It is the only marine railway (or canal inclined plane) of its kind in North America still in use".

"The Trent-Severn Waterway is 240 miles long with 45 locks, including 36 conventional locks, two sets of flight locks, hydraulic lift locks at Peterborough and Kirkfield, and a marine railway at Big Chute which transports boats between the upper and lower sections of the Severn. The system also includes 39 swing bridges and 160 dams"

Found this rusty lock on backyard of our old house. Years has gone by, yet it is solid with "ghobare roozegar bar chehreh ash".

We went to visit the Te Apiti wind farm early before I had to catch a flight. Unfortunately the visitor area wasn't opened yet so we had to make do with taking photos from the gate.

Geen aanrader, koop dus maar gewoon een kaartje voor de Petruskerk.
