Inspired by the track Moss Garden by David Bowie on the Heroes album. Quite apt as our lawn is covered in moss, currently covered in icy frost crystals.

This song just goes so well with this time. The global pandemic also makes us sit up and listen. Tell us a story, your story. About your experiences, injuries, wishes, dreams. And as you get through, survive. Melancholy and hope at the same time. From songs that we love, we often take the strength to go on, let us drift, let ourselves be reminded, let ourselves consciously change our mood and, last but not least, simply forget, whirl around, swing, spin with our favourite music during a lively dance. Looking for what the day may bring.

Look at the way she walks
The little black bird with no wings
She hops around the city
Looking for what the day may bring
She never took to pity
The little black bird with no wings
She fills me up with hope
The little blackbird with no wings
Someone crushed her wings in haste
When I see her heart stings
A survivor and she's full of grace
The little black bird with no wings
Sing little black bird sing, sing your song
For I can sit here all day long
Wondering what went, what went wrong?
Sing little black bird sing sing your song
Take your time for I'm all ears
I've been watching you for all these years

Macro Mondays: "Lockdown song"
Old French pop song about the urge to play guitar.
detail of 20 Euro bill to pay bills.
Macro Mondays - Lockdown Song
Great energy and humour in this song - most welcome these days.
This is more of a tribute to metal and hard rock in general than a single track, but I’ve rediscovered some classic albums during lockdown. Fade to Black was one of the first Metallica songs I heard back when I was at school in the 80’s and started a lifelong following.
The song itself is pretty deep, after reminding myself of the lyrics it’s all about suicide, so please don’t think it’s reflected in my mood!
Just last week I bought a cracking new pair of Bluetooth earphones that a are perfect for thrashing too whenever I get the chance! (Today while cleaning the bathroom)
I was going for the classic metal album cover look à la ‘The Black Album’ or ‘Black in Black, originally I shot a marble which was kind of cool, then I found this lump of iron pyrite which seemed to fit the theme perfectly!
I have like Queen and David Bowie since my University days in the dim and distant past so when they collaborated on this song, which for me has been a great Lockdown song, in 1981, it was a rare treat!
In the summer past, I could drive along and sing along with Freddie Mercury and all the great Queen songs, releasing some of the pressure induced by the constant state of tension induced by the virus.
My lockdown songs are all the Queen and Bowie numbers but this one is special!
... inspired by the song "11 o'clock, tick tock" by U2. We recently got all of our vinyl down from the loft, bought ourselves a turntable and are plodding our way through our youth! I thought I had lost this single, and was distraught so I had been frantically looking on eBay for it and was astonished to see the prices people were asking for it. Luckily I found it lurking inside another single

Love letters straight from your heart
Keep us so near while apart
I'm not alone in the night
When I can have all the love you write
I memorize every line
And I kiss the name that you sign
And, darling, then I read again right from the start
Love letters straight from your heart
I memorize every line
And I kiss the name that you sign
And, darlin', then I read again right from the start
Love letters straight from your heart.

Letters from my boyfriend at the time - now my husband for over 45 years. Letters he sent to me whilst he was away studying at University. Much more romantic than text messages 😊❤️
My lockdown music has been re-visiting my Genesis/Floyd collections and catching up on Steve Hackett's ouvre.
As well as the stuff I always listen to - Paul Simon/Ralph McTell/Eagles/etc. etc., also been following Clemency Burton-Hill's 'Year of Wonder' classical music suggestions. So which to choose, really . . .

This is a small filigree heart with a chain necklace. I used a couple of Omni filters, one of which duplicated the heart in the top right corner. This was taken on my blue background but I preferred the desaturated edit. HMM

"Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin' for a train
When I's feelin' near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained
And rode us all the way into New Orleans
I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana
I's playin' soft while Bobby sang the blues..."
Today's Macro Mondays theme is "Lockdown Song," or an illustration of a song or genre of music that we listen to while locked at home during the pandemic.
"Me And Bobby McGee," written by Kris Kristofferson, is the song that I'm trying to portray with this image. I've got the faded jeans from line 2 above, and the harpoon (slang for harmonica) and dirty red bandana from the first line of the second verse. (Actually I used an old plaid shirt, as I don't have a bandana) :-)

A watch and a score as a whole, made me think of a ballet entitled "The Dance of the Hours" (La Danza delle Ore in Italian) taken from an opera by the Italian composer Amilcare Ponchielli, La Gioconda. With the "Dance of the Hours" Ponchielli has magically rendered into music the idea of the twelve dancers representing the twelve hours and two dancers who simulate the hands of the clock. Music and ballet describe in a fabulous symphonic progression the dance of the hours of dawn, the hours of day, the hours of the night and the morning. The "Dance of the Hours" is the only piece by an Italian composer used by Disney in the animated musical film Fantasia. This is my musical and photographic contribution of today’s Macro Mondays them: “Lockdown Song.” HMM!

Macro Monday theme for 1/25/21: Lockdown Song. I chose "Paint It Black" by the Rolling Stones as it is one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar.

It's so exciting, why should I pretend?
In a few hours, the plane will descend
Hey Honolulu, I'm going to happy Hawaii
I can imagine the beach and the sand
Walking with someone and holding his hand
Hey Honolulu, I'm going to happy Hawaii.

- The First Cut Is The Deepest by Rod Stewart
www.youtube.com/watch?v=pr3zpqp3ypY
Lyrics:
I would have given you all of my heart
But there's someone who's torn it apart
And he's taking just all that I had
But if you want, I'll try to love again
Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know
The first cut is the deepest, baby, I know
The first cut is the deepest
But when it comes to being lucky, he's cursed
When it comes to lovin' me, he's worse
I still want you by my side
Just to help me dry the tears that I've cried
And I'm sure gonna give you a try
If you want, I'll try to love again, try
Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know, oh
The first cut is the deepest, baby, I know
The first cut is the deepest
But when it comes to being lucky, he's cursed
When it comes to lovin' me, he's worse
I still want you by my side
Just to help me dry the tears that I've cried
But I'm sure gonna give you a try
'Cause if you want, I'll try to love again
(Try to love again, try to love again)
Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know, oh
The first cut is the deepest, baby, I know
The first cut is the deepest
But when it comes to being lucky, he's cursed
When it comes to lovin' me, he's worse, oh oh
The first cut is the deepest, baby, I know
The first cut is the deepest
Try to love again
I'm not a great Motorhead fan. But one of my favourite bands, Del Amitri always performed a cover of this song in their live show.

I'm thinking on the song 'Yellow Submarine'.
A yellow ball lonely on a deep blue background like a yellow submarine lonely in the blue wide ocean. Maybe, many people are lonley in the Corona Lockdown, which is why I've choosen a minimalist motif.
