Janis Joplin: Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz(song)
(I found 5 Mercedes in my neighborhood - but we had heavy snow this night)
I love country music, but I didn't have anything to shoot, so I searched songs with my name.... and found this Tom Petty song, that I never heard and glad I found... I took a picture of this on my phone, so it made the size requirements....
I doctored it up a bit for the challenge!
Here I am walking alone, but my lockdown dream is that one day soon, we can all walk together without the fear of covid...
This music "Air" by J. S. Bach came to my mind as a 'Lockdown song' because of its double meaning of the word : as a piece of music it has the meaning 'aria' - 'song'.
But it also looks like the 'air' that we breathe, the air that the Covid patients so badly need.
Music (Classic, Jazz, Rock, Folk - both to listen to and also to sing!) as oxygen for the soul is a wonderful support and remedy in lockdown times.
HMM to all participants, and stay safe 💙
(PS. About the set-up : A stone with a hole, in a glass of mineral water, sidelit.)
I knew this song for the first time because it was sung by Robert Palmer. Many singers sang this song, originally released by Marvin Gaye in 1971.
First, I loved the very gentle melody, but when I understood the lyrics, I knew it has been sung about the environmental issue. And I learned that the subtitle was "The Ecology".
Also, The lyrics "Ah things ain't what they used to be, no, no" are linked what people in the world is feeling right now, isn't it?
As an image of this song that sang about environmental issues, I took a polar bear in the iceberg that melts due to global warming.
This polar bear is 1 cm long on a pen cap decoration. I used freezer frost as the snow.
Shot for Macro Mondays, Lockdown Song
This song by Sting feels rather metaphorical for the U.S.’s transition from 2020 to 2021.
Part of the chorus:
“After the rain has fallen
After the tears have washed your eyes
You'll find that I've taken nothing, that
Love can't replace in the blink of an eye…
… there'll still be love in the world.” Sting
In the photo, these are leaves of a Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Silver Sheen' bush. I refer to it as my bokeh bush because of the way sunlight reflects off its small, shiny, leaves. It is the reflection off other leaves that causes the bokeh in this photo.
Happy Macro Monday :-)
A song that has helped me through 2020 is "I'm gonna be(500 miles)". But not with The Proclaimers but from a TV show called Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. A happy song that always makes me feel better.
"Sleepy Silver Door" by Dead Meadow
When I was young I travelled to distant lands
A castle arises from a sea of sand
Its towers shimmer in the heat of the sun
Shining down shadow for everyone
Swinging on swings that hang from great trees
Lulled to sleep by the breath of the breeze
My forgotten thoughts drip down to the sea
So I lived a life, which was my dream
Can't find my key to the sleepy silver door
I'm washed up on the shore of reality
By a cold morning, amazing frost patterns appeared in my window. Magnifique dessins de givre par un matin froid.
This morning, they chose a Sunday morning, the time had come to hatch. I was a little late because they were already hatched with a few exceptions and I had to be quick because the little ones did not stay long on the spot.
It must be Isotoma species don't you think ?

This song from the film Hair, always gets me in a good mood. It´s been a favorite for a long time and makes me feel happy
We all feel under pressure at the moment, whether it be in our work or just being stuck at home. The song I have chosen from one of my CD's is 'Under Pressure'. This song released in October 1981 was performed by Queen and David Bowie.
Nut, Screw and Grips borrowed from the garage.
Thank you for your views, faves and comments.
Happy MM.
I took this shot of a miniature rose I'd picked from the garden (very surprisingly, they are still flowering) `kissing' the frost on top of my car, to represent the song Kiss from a Rose by Seal, for today's Macro Mondays' theme `Lockdown song'. I've had a really busy week and weekend, so instead of taking the shot in nice light during the day, it turned into a last-minute shoot, in the dark, with a torch, and it was sooooo cold by then, my hands were about sticking to the roof of my frosted car while I tried to get my shot!
1972 The Supremes released "Oh Be My Love". I remember being first married and listening to them and other R&B and Soul groups plus lots of others. Here's a few lyrics to this song............
Love's a puzzle
I say, love's a puzzle
Sometimes confusing as can be
But we'll work it out
I know you'll discover
The beauty of love's mystery
Oh be my love, come let the work begin
Oh be my love, love's puzzle we can blend
Oh be my love, we'll fit the pieces in
I know we'll fit the pieces in
I know
Macro Monday.

My first attempt at a photographing frozen bubbles. It may not have been really cold enough - though my fingers found it way too cold at -2C. There was also a bit too much of a breeze as many bubbles blew too far away and popped. I took so long trying to get this one right that it was beginning to melt again in the sunshine.
I chose the song I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor, from both a pandemic & political pov. It's one of my favorite songs from the late 70s and it sure rings true every time I hear it now. Some of the lyrics include the lines:
I should have changed that stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
Go on now, go. Walk out the door
Just turn around now, you're not welcome anymore
I say good riddance to Trump and Covid!! HMM!

'Nothing' by Ayo is my Lockdown Song
It is a really feel-good song with her wonderful voice, the rhythm and lyrics.
"I had nothing
'Cause what is everything if you don't have love
Tell me what is everything if you don't have love"
