I bought myself a Helios lens to play with and it arrived today (it takes a looooong time to get from Russia to Australia!). Just in time to amuse me during our latest hard lockdown which looks like it is going to last a while :/... So before I pulled off the front element and flipped it around so I can play with all the exciting bokeh I took a couple of quick portraits of my lil companion and now I don't think I want to mess with my lens! It's so soft and dreamy... though I think I'm too presbyopic to cope with manual focusing haha

I have set myself a lockdown challenge too only take photos in my garden or from my garden. It is going to be interesting to see what effect this has on my photographic skills. With no travelling involved I will be able to take advantage of the change in the light conditions, and hopefully this will help me improve my eye for a composition.

Aus dem Spiegel-Spiel des Gerings des Ringes ereignet sich das Dingen des Dinges. Quotation attributed to the philosopher Martin Heidegger. I won't even try to translate this. But, look, what the lockdown is doing to my mind!

It was finally great to escape from the rigours of lockdown and get some fresh air and new images. A quick nip up to Twisleton Scar after a round of golf at Lancaster in sunny warm conditions. Great also to meet up with Pete Rowbottam here and watch his mastery of flying his drone!

The weather however changed very rapidly in the 45 minutes before sunset, the temperatures dropped significantly and a cold strong wind had Pete's drone rapidly recalled to base. It was a good job I had my winter stuff and a flask of hot tea in my rucksack to ward off the chill as dusk set in.

This limestone finger leading to the tree and Ingleborough provided a decent subject until we moved to get a sunset shot on the scar end. A nice hour of freedom at the end of a long 3 months.

LOCK-DOWN

For the last month because our health is not at all good, we have been on a lock-down. We are fortunate that we have had relatives and good friends who have helped us in our time of need. Going to shops, the pharmacy and our local hospital to pick up vital stores and medicines.

So to everyone a big Thank you and a message of ‘Keep Safe’ to you all and your families.

I show this series of photos to show that we are keeping busy, listening to music, reading, painting and my latest venture into cooking via video link with my Granddaughters. We made a coffee and walnut cake last week but I ate it before I remembered to get the camera out.

I’m currently listening the Beatles ‘All you need is Love” and it seems very appropriate to the occasion.

Best wishes to all

ps I dedicate this to my friend Vince, it's the surname.

I took this Image back in August 2019. Not knowing that it will get a new meaning in 2020! Right now here in Gemany we are in Lock Down 2.0 and now the image speaks for itself.

Hang on and stay strong + healthy! This bad times will pass by - sooner or later!

Vielen Dank für Eure Besuche, Kommentare und Sternchen!

...French style

During lockdown, I have walked unspectacular but quiet countryside for exercise. The seasons change, and every day is different.
