Nonostante il mutuo scambio di dotazioni fra DB ed SBB Cargo si sia formalmente concluso agli inizi del nuovo anno con l'implementazione del sistema di sicurezza ETCS sulle prime Br185 delle ferrovie tedesche, almeno fino a fine gennaio è stato ancora possibile avvistare alcune locomotive delle SBB incaricate di trainare verso l'Italia convogli normalmente in carico al gruppo DB Schenker.
Ecco quindi uno dei "classici" del San Gottardo, il Winnerzug da Wuppertal per Piacenza iniziare l'ascesa verso Goeschenen al traino di un Re10/10 in luogo delle classiche TRAXX tedesche. (22/1/16)
A loan tree on the skyline near Old Rayne Aberdeenshire. The Crop lines (Spray lines) do help this but I have over done the burning of the clouds a little. Oops!
T395 trundles across the Winters Flat trestle bridge just west of Castlemaine with an afternoon charter to Maldon.
T395 is on loan Steamrail Victoria as part of a joint venture agreement with the Victorian Goldfields Railway while their locomotives were out of service for repairs.

I had hoped to get a shot of one of the two PRLX SD70M loaners NSM is using until two of their ACes are repaired. I wanted a shot for historical record, certainly not for its aesthetics.

took this photo in 2015 just outside @travelpaso it is a favorite of mine (I have a 20"×30" print of it on wood). One of the perks of photos is capturing a moment in time (freezing time) and being able to revisit it again and again. The photos can even illicit the same sense of awe or wonder that was felt in the moment . . .
On loan to Stagecoach South West from Leamington, prior to entering service, to cover the October/November 2019 Tarka Line blockade.
Often many adults nowadays have loans, but do they exist in your life? Do you think they helped you or rather regret taking on such a burden?

Personally, I treat them judiciously and am not going to take them unnecessarily. By the way, you can pay for my services as a photographer with a credit card without commission and please yourself and your loved ones. ☺️😉

Something of a rare breed these days.... a Carlisle Kingmoor Yard DB Cargo driver !
With a massive reduction in workload just nine drivers are now on the books at Kingmoor Yard TCD for DB Cargo along with two junior drivers who are based wholly within the yard itself for shunting.
The traincrew depots mainline work has dwindled down to the Peel Ports contract train running containers from Liverpool (Seaforth) Docks to Mossend and return. Other than that we still cover the lime empties from Warrington to Hardendale Quarry for Tata Steel. A far cry from when I transferred to the depot 22 years ago from down south when there were over 50 drivers and more work for EWS than there were drivers to cover it. At one stage we had 15 drivers on loan from other depots just to move the volumes of mostly coal. How times change !
Here yours truly gets a brief leg stretch and some fresh air at 03.42 having arrived 40mins early into Carlisle with 4M35 the 02.10 Mossend Euro Terminal to Seaforth Docks container train.

We drove about 2.5-3 hours in the rain to get from Shanghai to Hangzhou...the road was smooth and modern...but there were lots of toll booths...i would guess anywhere from 7 to 10...oddly enough, 70% of the world's toll roads are in china (to fund the massive infrastructure boom there)...and on many routes, the cost of tolls would come close to the cost of fuel for the journey...as a result, some elaborate schemes have popped up to avoid the tolls, ranging from locals offering to guide you around the toll boths on local roads or to "loan" you local license plates to exempt you from tolls...
we could have taken a high speed train to hangzhou, but then we'd have missed bruno mars, stories of tolls and local home architecture...for once i'm glad we didn't take the train...
and by the way...many people spoke of hangzhou like it was a small town...if you consider a city of 8 mil people small... :-) more than 100 cities in China have populations over 1 million...
DE22 (LX09HJJ) on loan to route S1 to Banstead on its first day with Metrobus London. This bus was weirdly re-coded to OM1, which doesn't make sense as it's not a Metrocity.
While climbing tryfan mountain in North Wales, wondering if the route we had chosen (North face) was doable without ropes we found this guy. Have to admit it did add more feelings of doubt....
Wrongful so, as we scaled it just fine without ropes and climbing gear.
Loan Tree and Lenticular clouds, If you painted this sky, people would say it's not right wouldn't they?
