The wine is labelled "Morning Fog" and is estate bottled in the Livermore Valley of northern California. It was hot and clear here in central Texas when I took the photo.
Finally caught a glimpse of NEOWISE above Livermore Valley this morning. It was very faint but there was a brief moment when I could see it with my naked eyes. I am a happy man now!
As I contemplated this scene, with its bright green, newly-sprouted grape leaves, I thought about what might become of the fruit of this vineyard. I visualized future celebrations of important life events like weddings, Christenings, or Bar-Mitzvahs, and how the wine of this vintage will become an important part of those celebrations. Imagining the joyousness of future happenings made the present scene all the more beautiful.

Western Pacific passenger FP-3A 803-A is the trailing unit of a freight entering the west side of Altamont Pass. The train, led by GP-40 3502 is likely forwarding the Zephyr unit to Oroville where units are normally exchanged during the servicing stop there prior to, or, after passing through the Feather River Canyon.

These Sangiovese grapes are from the Crackerbox Vineyard and will be used by the Mitchell Katz Winery in Livermore, CA. Sounds from the vineyard.
The Altamont Pass Wind Farm is one of the earliest in the United States located in the Altamont Pass. The wind farm is composed of over 4900 relatively small wind turbines of various types, making it at one time the largest farm in the world in terms of capacity. Altamont Pass is still the largest concentration of wind turbines in the world, with a capacity of 576 megawatts (MW), producing about 125 MW on average and 1.1 terawatt-hours (TWh) yearly.
My only photo of the turbines worth posting. Altamont Pass has the highest concentration of wind turbines in the world.
Just loved the way the overcast picked up the sun's warm rays

Members of the Wetmore family are interred in this vault at the Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland, California. Among them are Mary Camden Wetmore (1861-1924) whose father, Charles Camden (1817-1912) built the first paper mill on the Pacific Coast (in the nation of Peru). Mary's husband Clarence Wetmore (1851-1936), also interred here, was the first student to register at the newly established University of California, Berkeley (formerly the 'College of California') and the valedictorian of the Class of 1868. Mary was a native of California...her father, Charles had come in search of gold in 1849. She, along with her brother Charles Jr., founded the Cresta Blanca Winery in the Livermore Valley in 1882. The winery is today the home of Wente Brothers Sparkling Winery.
