I missed a photo of Honeybear in June, it wasn't intentional, but maybe subconsciously I was a bit embarrassed to post his photo. In the last 2 months, Honeybear has lost a lot of weight (so much so that his spine is clearly visible), has lost even more hair, and overall, just seems to have aged a lot. We finally got into the vet last week (all the vets here are short staffed and booking months out). We knew Honeybear's liver was failing (and he's been on medication for a while) but now he has a liver infection, a urinary infection, and Cushings Syndrome. Of course, the infections and liver failure are concerning, but at least the Cushings isn't life threatening, although the one medication used to treat it cannot be given to dogs with liver or kidney disease, and Honeybear has both. And luckily, despite all his medical issues, he is feeling fine. So all we can do is treat the infections and keep loving him, and hope that no one reports us for animal neglect (because he really looks like that's what we're doing)
After 13 years, his tiny liver is failing. If you have any prayers, positive thoughts, good karma, anything at all, please send them to him. I have about 3 days of forced-feeding and forced-medicating ahead of me to get him into healing mode. Please help him any way you can, he's my baby.

Probably one of my worst hangovers ever.

This was my last weekend drinking. Thankfully I didn't even face the worst of it. I did a good job of pacing myself. I can't say the same for people who started at 10am.
Doing anything consistently for upwards for 14 hours will bout kill you I reckon.
By the way, Mat accurately described Miller Lite as a beer that tastes like "the tears of a Mormon."
For whatever it's worth, I would say he's right.
Sheila Our Cocker Spaniel ! She is being very ill for a week now . She is having a liver infection and is feeling very awful Her day exists of sleeping and laying on the couch ! Hope she will be better soon !
This is about a week before my sweet Bonnie had to be put down. You can see, which I didn't see at the time, that in her ear its totally yellow. She had FIP, felion infectious peritonitis - aka, nasty cat killer. After the vet figured out what this was (1G later), he told me I'd know when it was time to put her down. Now when people tell you this just say ok because you do just know. She was so tiny (3.5lbs and losing) and just wanted to curl up on me to keep warm. By now she had all but stopped eating. I worked from home the last day before her dreaded appt at the vet, it's good that I did because otherwise I would have found her dead. Around 11am I started to hear this horrible wailing, the death cry. If you've never heard it, I hope you never do. Rushed to the vet, an absolute mess, and made everyone in my path stunned into silence. Within 20 mins I said my goodbyes. If you've read this all and you know me, ask me about the something that happened later that day.
Only had her for 3 months in total, but she was a great cat.
